Today we celebrate the legendary Audre Lorde - writer, feminist and civil rights activist, who inspires thousands of commuters daily when passing through the 167 Street (B/D) station in the Bronx in Rico Gatson’s mosaic “Beacons” (2018). Tonight, The Audre Lorde Project is celebrating Audre Lorde’s lasting legacy on the occasion of her 85th birthday, while honoring the LGBTSTGNC Communities of Color in New York.
