My first Art Fight attack this year is for @swelloctober31 (PrincePenny on AF)!! Audrey Grace is signing "castle" to her dear friend Audrey Jones (she's Deaf!) and looking to her to see if she signed it correctly :3 I feel like my Audrey would definitely continue to learn Sign for her at her own pace even while they're apart.

Thank you for clicking! I really liked the way I drew these beach cover-ups and especially the translucent effect of Audrey Jones' hair on the other side (it wasn't just a case of lowering the opacity of the layer, I actually painted over it in some places!) but in the end I felt like they took away too much of the colours from the entire piece. But I wanted to show it anyway so here it is! ^^

Why these three together? They’re the first three things I think of when someone asks me why I like the Onceler fandom so much. I really enjoy the open-sourced collaborative nature of the writing culture here ^_^ there’s always a sense of community whenever I see people work together to make stories by mashing their characters and world together like toys. Some of them get really creative with the explnataions for the crossovers too! I also really like how alot of stories here draw inspiration from the (1972) and (2012) source materials, it’s sweet seeing them honour the original work and reinventing it.

My Dearest, Jonesy ♡

I have so much to tell you..and I wish you were here, so I could tell you in person, and make you a flower crown while we roast chocolate-covered sausages over the campfire, underneath the Milky Way, surrounded by fireflies and Truffula trees.

Oh, J, the trees here!! They're more beautiful than I imagined, almost as beautiful as you, and I thought of stealing one for you for your Thneedville, but Bean told me I'd get arrested if I did that...but please know that I'm thinking of you too.

And it CAN get pretty crazy...there's all sorts of folks here, from all different realms, decades and alternate universes, and I don't know why, but Weehawken seems to be the center of a high concentration of magic, so much so that—..well, but I'm managing!! Most of the kids think I'm cool just for being the archery instructor. ^v^ And I also didn't know this beforehand but...some of my friends decided to come work at camp, too?? So I'm reuniting with dear friends, and also making new ones...and in case you are wondering, I'm looking after Bean as well. Or rather, he's been looking after me. I'm really glad he's here..we're both doing okay!

And I really hope you've been doing okay, too, J. I'm

[she pauses here, her heart aching thinking about how much she misses Audrey Jones. They've all been so busy lately...oh, when did her letter get so long...she hopes J can understand her feelings. She wipes at her eye with the back of her fingers, and continues]

pretty sure half the reason others like me here at camp is because I'm always trying to be more like you...how wonderful you are and the way you support me when I least expect it. Thank you for the card, Audrey, I'm missing you lots and I hope we can see each other again soon. You need to tell me all that you've been doing over the summer, too. I don't want any details spared!!

Special delivery for Camp Counsellor BP! These two were clamoring to send their little cards :'>

[Thankfully, Bean had managed to obtain these cards without anyone spotting his real name written on them.]

These two, missing me already... Heh.

[He shakes his head with a laugh, then heads for the activity cabin, reading and rereading the cards the whole time.

Once there, he steals, er, grabs a piece of paper and pen, and starts writing a letter in return.]

Dear Ted and Audrey,

You're right, the trees are amazing. Were they this big when you guys visited too? The whole place smells of pine and butterfly milk, and honestly? I could get used to that. :)

Camp already had plenty of counselors, so I got a job as music instructor instead. Turns out, I'm a pretty great teacher, if I do say so myself. (This also means you don't have to bother with that resume, Ted - they'll hire anyone, and I really do mean anyone.)

Just be warned, this place is pretty wild. Catgirls, vampires, clowns? It's basically Halloween over here every single day. But I'm having a good time, singing fun (campfire) songs and eating good food. Not to mention I forgot how great/terrible it feels to stuff your face with marshmallows. It's making me feel oddly nostalgic.

Have had a couple memory issues here and there, but the headaches have mostly been manageable, so don't worry too much about it.

I can't wait to tell you all about it when I get back.
