Kissing in the Rain lighting colour analysis

Throughout Lily and James episodes, the lighting is warmer and more glowy. At the end of their season, she sings "you are my sunshine"; this shows that they view eachother as the light and sunshine of eachothers life. So, it makes sense that they would take on a more glowy light. Their relationship was built on a lot more upfront "anger" and passion which tends to be represented by warmer colours. Their intesne feelings were something the two of them didn't hide from eachother, and they would plainly say thoughts about eachother to the others face. It was something bright and unavoidable. Lily and James are both bold and upfront personalities that cannot be ignored just like bright warm colours.

Audrey and Henry's episodes mostly use cooler and more shadowed lighting. They shy away from their deeper feelings for eachother, just like one might stay in the shadows. They aren't seeking to be the bold center of attraction, instead they are cooler and more subtle. Neither knows what the next right move is, so they try (key word try/lh) to be more subtle and cool with their actions. They try to play it cool and tip toe around their feelings, and the colours reflect this. At the end of their season, the shadows go away and the episode is brighter than the previous episodes. Audrey and Henry's feelings are finally declared and brought out of the shadows into the light.

I'm just super proud of everything that went into this particular episode of kissing in the rain. The last minute decision to do I Capture the Castle, the costume and hair, the awesome PAs who worked late on it...everything! Yay one more to go folks!
