the sheer audacity of the thorne inciting incident is so important to me. all the backgrounds involve rook making a controversial executive decision, but thorne is the only one who disobeys direct orders. and as a junior warden no less!! the lowest rung of a very strict chain of command. mama court martial behind you 😱

and the all-or-nothing nature of the decision itself to take your entire squad into the darkspawn incursion, leaving the villagers completely defenceless should you fail. obviously it worked out but what a brazen (or desperate) call to make without the benefit of hindsight. anyway thorne enjoyers sound off where did your rook get the astonishing quantity of guts required to do this

Who is Audrey and why is she awful 👀?

audrey (human champion warden) is my darling little trust fund terror who gets to bite as many classmates as she wants. i was inspired by the audacity of thorne's backstory so i wondered “what kind of person would have the gall to do this” and landed on “egotistical nepo baby”

she’s the youngest child of marcher nobility who thinks she would be a better heir than her older brother, and has had a chip on her shoulder about it forever. just the right combo of rich, smart, hot, and good at violence to never need to develop morals or humility. she hates davrin at first because he keeps wardenmogging her but dw they kiss about it
