johnmcmurtrie666: This week has been very nostalgic scanning shots from 2004-2006 of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE. I have scanned about 300 images all shot on film of various stages in the bands career. I joined them on their first UK tour when it all began and in the US on the Vans Warped tour. This shot with the Union Jack was taken at the Reading festival (on august 27th) when MCR went on after SLAYER. They won over the crowd that day but had a barrage of bottles during the first few songs.

15 years ago, on this day (August 20), Johny attended the 2006 Teen Choice Awards, at the Gibson Amphitheatre, in Universal City, California.

On that day, Johnny was nominated twice on the categories “Choice Movie Actor: Action/Drama” and “Choice Movie Actor: Comedy” and WON both! On the category “Choice Movie Actor: Action/Drama”, Johnny was competing for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest” and against his fellow pirate Orlando Bloom for his role as Will Turner. Tom Cruise for his role as Ethan Hunt in “Mission: Impossible III”,   Hugh Jackman for his role as Logan / Wolverine in “X-Men: The Last Stand”, Ludacris for his role as DJay in “Hustle & Flow” and as Anthony in “Crash” And Terrence Howard for his role as Skinny Black in “Hustle & Flow” and as Cameron Thayer in “Crash”

On the category “Choice Movie Actor: Comedy”, Johnny was competing for his role as Willy Wonka in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” against: Jack Black for his role as Nacho in “Nacho Libre”, Jim Carrey for his role as Dick Harper in “Fun with Dick and Jane”, Jon Heder for his role as Darryl in “Just like Heaven” and as Clark Reedy in “The Benchwarmers”, Adam Sandler for his role as Michael Newman in “Click” And Vince Vaughn for his role as Gary Grobowski  in “The Break-Up”

Johnny went also on stage twice, two accept his award and with Orlando to accept the Pirates of the Caribbean awards: “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest” WON on the categories “Choice Summer Movie: Action/Drama” and “Choice Movie: Action”. And the actors also won in different categories: > Bill Nighy won the “Choice Movie: Sleazebag (Villain)” for his role as Davy Jones. > Orlando Bloom won the “Choice Movie: Rumble” for his battle against James Norrington in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest” and was nominated the “Choice Male Hottie” (Too bad Johnny was not competing)           > And Keira Knightley won the “Choice Movie: Scream Scene” for her role as Elizabeth Swann in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest”.
