August JAM 8 | Heal the world! The Super Bowl 1993 halftime performance was part of my introduction to Michael Jackson. I remember seeing his interview with CBS 60 minutes in 2003 and asking my Dad who that man was. I thought he had really kind eyes and I felt bad for him. My Dad introduced me to the Dangerous Album (which I immediately hooked onto), and then I watched videos of the Live in Bucharest performance and the Super bowl performance using Microsoft Encarta. The following year my music teacher had us perform either "We Are the World" or "Heal the World" at a school performance. I'm not sure which... I'll have to find the recording. Around that time I participated in a calendar art contest so I drew children holding hands around the world inspired by my school performance and the music. I won first place! I wonder if I have a copy of that calendar anywhere... I won first place the following year with a similar concept.
