Jamie bristled at the mention of his mother. Hated the sound of her name or title on his father’s rotten lips.

Ivar coming home after a night out with his brothers, still incredibly drunk, and the reader having to put him to bed. She’s his roommate, and they’ve lived together a while. He’s still really easily flustered around her, because he has a huge crush on her and accidentally admits that.

You knew when Ivar went out with his brothers that he would come back drunk. It seems to be a tradition for them and you personally think that it's a good thing Ivar has you as his roommate because you don't mind looking after him when he's drunk. You don't want to say it but it's almost like he's more tolerable when he's drunk.
He stumbles through the front door of your shared apartment right when you expected him to. He's more out of it than you thought he would be and you're able to lead him to his room without him realizing it.
As you fix the blankets around him, his eyes look up at you and his hand reaches for your wrist to stop you from leaving. You look down at him with a gentle smile. "Sit with me," Ivar whispers, slowly pushing himself up to sit as you move beside him. He keeps his hands over yours, staring at you in awe. Like he's seeing you for the first time. "You look like a Goddess."
You giggle at his words and turn your head down to hide your flustered look. It's not the first time Ivar's said something like this to you while drunk and you're sure it won't be the last. But it still makes your heart skip a beat when he does this. "Thank you, Ivar," you whisper. But you know that in the morning, he won't remember a thing.
He reaches out to lift your gaze up to him, keeping his finger under your chin. This is probably the most confident he's been with you. Of course, you've noticed that he gets flustered when around you, but you don't think much about it.
"It's just one of the reason's I'm in love with you," he softly says, and your heart skips another beat.
You've lived with Ivar for a while now and you've gotten so close. Now that he's told you he loves you, it almost makes you feel embarrassed that you've brought home other guys before.
Then you remember that Ivar's drunk now. There's a chance that he won't even remember this tomorrow.
Resting your hand on his wrist, you gently pull his hand away from your chin. "Why don't you tell me that again tomorrow when you're not drunk," you whisper, smiling at him before you lean forward to press a quick kiss to his cheek. Then you pull away and walk out of the room.
Drunken words are sober thoughts. And you really hope that's the case with Ivar now.

"Look. There's (Y/n)." At Sigurd's words, Hvitserk spins around to find you, not thinking that there's no reason for you to be in the Great Hall where he and his brothers are.
Hearing his brothers chuckling at his reaction, he slowly turns back around to give Sigurd a dangerously dark glare. "That's not funny," he mutter, raising his cup of mead to his lips so he can take a sip, but to also hide the embarrassment on his face.
"You're right," Ubbe speaks, looking at Sigurd and then Ivar as if to tell them off for laughing at Hvitserk. But then an amused smile returns to Ubbe's face. "It's hilarious."
Hvitserk rolls his eyes at them before casting his eyes to the ground. He dare not say anything else, anything about you because he knows that he'll just give his brothers more to make fun of. Especially if he ends up stumbling over his words.
"Why don't you just confess your feelings to her already? Then we would stop making fun of your misery," Ivar mentions, slight annoyance in his voice as he looks over at Hvitserk again.
"That's easier said than done. I don't know what it is about her, but she makes me lose my words whenever I see her," Hvitserk starts to explain, keeping his eyes on the cup in his hands as he shifts in his seat. "No matter how much I practice what I want to say to her, I just forget it all when I'm standing in front of her." He turns the cup in his hands, biting the inside of his lip in frustration, just waiting for his brothers to make fun of him again.
"Well, that's your problem. You practice too much when you should just spit it out."
"Well, then why don't you do it if you think it's so easy?" he fights Ubbe back, finally lifting his eyes up to him to give him a challenging look.
A smirk grows on Ubbe's face. "Maybe I will," he says back, pushing himself off his chair and starting to head towards the door.
Hvitserk's quick to shoot up out of his own seat to tackle his brother to the ground. Or at least try. He ends up chasing his brother out of the Great Hall, trying to stop him from getting to you first.

The moment Bucky rolls over, letting go of you in his sleep, you wake up. It wasn't because he let you. It was because of the sound he made, a quiet, sad noise that you know all too well. He's having a nightmare.
Pushing yourself up, you turn towards Bucky and place a gentle hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, Bucky," you whisper, starting to stroke his arm to try and get him to calm down. You've done this before and it's helped. But it doesn't seem to be working tonight.
You half think you should just wake him, but the times when you've done that haven't been all the best. It's always been a backup plan because you'd rather soothe him in his sleep and make the bad dream go away than have him wake up right after one.
As you start to whisper his name again, his body jolts almost in instinct and he jumps up, his metal hand slamming into your shoulder. You cry in pain as the force of his hit sends you down to the bed and he follows you, keeping you pinned down to the bed.
He blinks down at you and you can see the realization spreading across his face and guilt drowning in his eyes. "No, no, no. Bucky, I'm fine. It's fine," you try to soothe, but he shakes his head and quickly pushes himself away from you.
"I...I didn't mean to-"
"I know, I know." You stop him from blaming himself. But as you push yourself up, pain shoots across your shoulder and you make the mistake of hissing and holding your shoulder tightly. "Bucky, don't."
"I'm not safe, not even around you or in my sleep," he speaks his mind, backing away from you until he gets to the edge of the bed. He doesn't even look at you when you shake your head. "I promised I would protect you, not hurt you."
"This was just one time, Bucky," you softly speak, shifting up to get closer to him but he just slips off the bed and looks up at you with tears in his eyes. "Please don't do this to yourself."
"I'm sorry." That's all he says to you before he walks out of the room, leaving you alone on the bed, still holding your shoulder tightly to your body.

The team came to take Loki in because he hasn't been as good as he had promised. He's been causing a bit of chaos recently and you had been sent to bring him in, but you haven't come back yet so the team can only think of the worst-case scenario being that Loki's taken you hostage.
They walk into the safe house that had been extended to Loki when he promised to hold the peace, looking around and finding what they were kind of expecting. It looks like he had company for the night, which they know would be you. But there doesn't seem to be signs of a struggle. So where the hell are you?
Hearing footsteps coming towards them, they all turn around thinking that it's Loki coming. They all stand in one line, 6 across the kitchen, ready for any fight that Loki might put up.
But when they see you walking in wearing nothing but one of Loki's shirts, they realize why you didn't come back. And it wasn't because you were being held hostage.
Your smile fades when you see the team, your heart skipping a beat as you realize what you're wearing. "I can explain," you start, holding up your hands in defeat when you see their expressions turning into anger.
Because you're the newest member of the team, they all treat you like a daughter. And sometimes they can be like overbearing parents. Especially now that you've spent the night with Loki who you're sure they still see as the enemy. You've learned otherwise over the night.
"Well, I'm sure it would be a thrilling story," Clint says, shifting on his feet as his hold on his bow tightens.
Before you can start, Loki walks into the room and you close your eyes in dread because you know what's about to happen.
Loki chuckles under the threatening gaze of the team. "Surely we can come to some kind of understanding," he says with a smile, looking to you and just quickly admiring the fact that you're wearing his shirt.
"I'm going to kill him." It's all that Tony says before he rushes forward.
It becomes crazy with the team chasing after Loki who in turn tries to get away from them and you're running after them to try and stop them.
This noise is definitely going to disturb the neighbors if the noise last night didn't.

“Nat, can I have my earrings back, please? The diamond one you borrowed like a month ago?” you ask, wiping your hands over your dress. Of course, your dressed-up appearance catches the team's attention and they all turn around to look at you with wide eyes.
“Where are you going all dolled up?” Tony asks as Natasha stands from her seat to quickly leave the room to get you the earrings you’re looking for, but she decides to stop at the door to hear what you’re going to say.
You clear your throat, smile to yourself, and glance down at your hands. “Well, it’s actually none of your business, Tony, but if you must know, I have a date tonight.”
Your words cause an uproar among the team. “How could you?”
“What about Bucky?”
“What about Bucky?” Bucky asks, walking in at the right moment and staring at Sam who had asked the last question.
“Oh, come on. You two would make a great couple,” Clint states, holding his hands out to gesture to both of you, the rest of the team nodding in agreement.
“Yeah, why do you think we always pair you two together on missions?”
“Excuse me?” you sternly ask Tony, folding your arms over your chest and raise an eyebrow at him.
“That was just because you wanted something to happen between? Not because you thought we’d work well together on the mission?” Bucky questions, sounding stern like you. And you have to try and hold back your smile as to how well Bucky’s playing this with you. “You would jeopardize a mission just because you guys think me and (Y/n) would be a cute couple?”
“You guys should be ashamed of yourself,” you scold, shaking your head at them. But you can’t hold your smile back as you feel Bucky’s hand snake across your hips. You look up at him when you see the realization hitting the team.
“Ready to go, babe?” Bucky asks, and you can just about hear everyones’ jaw-dropping.
You look back at Natasha, who only seems upset that you didn’t tell her about this. That you keep this secret from her and the rest of the team. “Never mind about the earrings. I’ve got an anniversary to spend with my man,” you gleefully say, looking back at the team and you wrap your arm around Bucky before turning with him to walk out the door.
“I knew it!”
“You did not know it,” Tony shouts at Steve after you and Bucky had walked out. And you can still hear their arguments down the end of the corridor about some kind of bet they had placed on the two of you getting together.
Mostly about whether or not the bet is still valid seeing as how you and Bucky were together before they even started to try and get you two together.

I've never done a snippet request, but I'll try...
Maybe reader and Hvitserk are dating, she is introverted and really shy. One day Hvitserk's friends call him to go out with them, then he calls reader to go with them but she doesn't want and say there's no problem if he goes with them.
But Hvit wants to spend time with his girl, doesn't mind where. So, he says to his friends he is staying at home with his girl. Then, one of them starts complaining about his girl and says "she's so boring, why the hell do you date her? Is she at least worth the fucking?" (you can modify it)
Reader hears it, but she doesn't hear Hvitserk defending her and later she bring the subject back and then it ends fluffy.

"She must be amazing in bed if you're dating her because to me she looks as fun as a dead fish."
Those words you heard over a call Hvitserk had with a friend who was trying to get him to go out with them. He wanted you to go with him but you said you didn't want to go and that you were completely fine that he goes. So when he said that he wants to spend time with you and that he's rather going to stay home, his friend had something to say about that. And it really hurt your feelings. You didn't even bother staying to hear if your boyfriend would defend you.
He walks into the bedroom where you're sitting on the bed, painting your nails. You look up at him, just because you saw him enter, and you quickly look back down at your nails, not saying a word to him. He can tell straight away that you heard what his friend said.
"Come to hang out with someone like me? I might bore you to death because I'm like a dead fish, as your friend so rudely put it," you mutter, refusing to look at him as he sits on the bed beside you.
Hvitserk shrugs his shoulders. "I don't think you're boring."
You lift your head to give him a tired look as if to tell him to not play with you. "Come on. When have you ever seen me in a club or whatever place it is you and your friends go to?" you ask, exaggerating your words with your hands before you go back to painting your nails.
"You didn't hear what I said to them, did you?" he asks, his words making you stop what you're doing and you slowly look up at him again, shaking your head. "I said that you were exactly what I needed. I needed to slow down and you gave me just that. And I love you for who you are and the calm you've brought to my life. I love you, so much."
Biting the inside of your cheek to stop yourself from smiling too much. Hvitserk's hand reaches out for your face, turning your gaze back to him. "I would choose you over them any day." You can't hold your smile back anymore and it makes Hvitserk's heart lighter. "Now, do I get to spend time with my girl?"
"I guess I can fit you into my busy schedule," you tease, glancing down to your nails for a second before looking back at him.
"Good," he says, pushing himself off the bed and then slipping his arms under you so he can lift you off the bed.
You let out a shout of surprise and your hands shoot out to take a hold of him. "Hvitserk, my nails are still wet!" But you know he doesn't care about that at all.

There's a small knock on the door before it's opened, making Ivar turn his gaze to the side to see who it is that has decided to disturb him so late in the night. Yes, he might still be awake with his thoughts, but that doesn't give anyone reason to disturb him.
Then he sees your face peering through the opening in the door and he's not so angry anymore. His relationship with you is unlike that that he has with his brothers. You can come and go as you please with him because you've been his friend for his entire life.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know if you would be awake or not," you whisper, slowly stepping into the room as you gently close the door behind you.
Ivar can tell from the shaking in your voice and the light layer of sweat on your forehead that something is wrong. It makes him shift in his spot and place his hand on the open space next to him. "What's wrong, (Y/n)?"
You shrug your shoulders, your gaze falling to your hands as you breathe out a small sigh. You feel silly. "I had a nightmare." You don't have to say anything else for Ivar to understand. He knows about your nightmares and he knows which ones often leave you frightened, waking you up by screaming. He knows that tonight, it had been one of those bad ones. "I just didn't want to be alone after it," you add, lifting your gaze to him as tears start to line the bottom of your eyes.
He gives you a gentle smile, the type that he only lets you see, and nods his head for you to come over to him as he pats the empty space beside him. It's the side he's always kept open for you, whenever you need him or he needs you.
As you sit on the bed beside him, he wraps his arm around your shoulders so you can get as close to him as you need to. He's learned since you both were kinds that it's best to let you do what you need to do to feel better. Fighting only makes it worse. And over the course of a few years, he's grown used to it all.
You rest your head on his shoulder, keeping your hands close as closer to yourself as you can, and letting out a long shaky sigh. Slowly, Ivar reaches for your hand and places it on his chest so you can feel his heartbeat. He knows it calms you down after nightmares.
His other hand reaches up so he can start stroking your head, the way you told him your mother used to do when you were a child.
He won't ask you about the nightmare because he knows you won't tell him. Not now anyway. You'll probably tell him in the morning if he asks. But for now, he'll just sit with you until you fall asleep in his arms, quietly wishing to himself that this moment could last forever.
