Auggie was unaware that his Uncle Dexter had seen him sneaking out and was following him. He was just about to light up a “smoke” when he heard him come up behind him.
“Kid, you okay?” His uncle had just moved in with them and he really didn’t know him that well, as he didn’t come around much before that.
However, Auggie felt at ease with him, and he spilled out all his apprehensions and fears about this being his last year in High School, and what was he going to do once he graduates.
Dexter seemed to listen, without judgment and gave Auggie some words of advice. “Just do you, August.”
