175. Because there is so much of the body to cover, the Air Nomad masters ritualistically have their tattoos done by three other Air Nomads.
When an Air Nomad Avatar masters air, three representatives from the Earth Kingdom, Water Tribes, and Fire Nation are chosen to tattoo the Avatar, to symbolize balance and peace between the four elements and the world.

174. After the first air temple got attacked by the fire nation, the others sent out groups of air benders into the Earth kingdom in case they got attacked too. There are now secret air bending colonies within the earth kingdom.
Aang finds them after he defeats the fire lord and teaches the younger generations about air nomad culture as parts of it had been lost due to the need for survival coming before cultural preservation.

172. After Avatar Wan died, a part of his spirit still lingered on the Earth Kingdom battlefield. When Zuko passed through, Wan’s spirit saw that Zuko was in need of shelter and guided him to the village nearby.

171. Aang and Katara got married at the Sounthern Air Temple at 20/18. The wedding was a combination of Air Nomad and Water Tribe traditions; though Aang had to borrow from Air Nomad festivals since his people didn’t really do weddings or marriage.
The food was mostly vegetarian meals, but a few that combined meat and veggies together; Air Nomad colours were mixed with Water Tribe; traditonal Air Nomad music was played during the ceremony, but Water Tribe music played during the reception.
As for the wedding night, Kataang didn’t have sex until the following night. This was an old Southern tradition before arranged marriages stopped being a thing in the south - the bride and groom don’t have sex right away. They spend their first night getting to know each other.
Aang knew about this tradition from before he went into the ice and since he and Katara hadn’t been able to see much of each other in the months leading to the wedding he thought it was a good idea to have a night dedicated to talking before they had sex.

170. Sukka got married at 19 and decided to wait until they were a little older to have kids.
However they couldn’t get pregnant and decided to adopt. They ended up becoming the parents of a non-bending Fire Nation girl who ended up being one of Mako’s and Bolin’s many relatives.
