i need people who have never driven a car before to understand that violating traffic laws and etiquette as a pedestrian or cyclist is not a brave act of resistance against the cruel oppression of admittedly flawed american car-centric culture and infrastructure, but rather a really good way to die or at least give people heart attacks. sometimes accidents are actually not the driver’s fault. i do not care if you personally think you’ve adequately assessed the latent risk and your own physical abilities because the situation looks incredibly different from the driver’s point of view. stop jaywalking you dummy
