My eldest niece got married today. First instinct is to be horrified at how quickly the time has passed from when i first held her, but this is a privilege. I am still young myself, kind of. I'll get to hold Mila's own children, if her and her new spouse get their wish. And if not, she's forging ahead so fearlessly and with her chosen person at her side. It's such a beautiful thing to behold
It's emotional in a way that my brother getting married never was. I was not prepared
I liked some funny IG posts about the weird things kidlets say, and now Facebook/IG thinks I should be into romance novels and mommybloggers and married couples joking about how much they hate their spouses.
Please no.
My nephew is such a little TWIT sometimes!!! He and his dad went up to the Lake Michigan Sand Dunes for their first father-son trip and I asked him to tell me all about it and he says "we left here, we drove up there, we arrived, we were there, now we're back" in complete monotone. "Nephew make sure to take a Creative Writing class, they'll eat this up". Then I demanded that he give me actual details to with he responded with an annoyingly overly detailed step by step account of each day from beginning to end. His intj mother was shocked he knew how to talk so much and in such detail. She'd never heard him just go on and on before. But she's never had hours-long conversations with him and doesn't know that he does this on purpose because he knows how much mundane details annoy me because of those conversations and he really thinks he's funny, the little git. This is not the first time one of our in-jokes has backfired on me.
I've been reading to my nephew every night
We've been switching books almost every night looking for one he will pay attention to. Last night we read an entire chapter from Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone and he didn't want me to stop this morning he brought me a book to read but I realized it was lord of the flies. I don't know about you but we had to read that shit in high school and let me tell you that is not a kids book so I hid the book but every time I do he finds it and asks me to read it. He is four years old this is not age appropriate reading material omg
TFW someone pisses you off so much you actually wanna go and confront them But then you remember you're timid and socially awkward af and the moment they push back or show the slightest hint of aggression you know you'll be like *Shrinks* oh,,,,um,, okay,,,,,, .____.;;;; *slinks away like a hurt puppy* ....So that's one of the reasons I don't want my own kids. I'm too teddy and not enough bear to defend them properly.
It's heartbreaking to know that this little person, this one little person you've know since the day they were born, this tiny girl who looks up to you in more ways than one, is utterly sad because she wants to be with you all day and can't.
So I'm pretty much obsessed with my new nephew. And I fucking love him to bits! All I wanna do is spam my social medias with the thousands of photos I've taken of him, but I can't until my sister gets on Facebook and makes the first post 😩
