J - Johnny Fedora & Alice Bluebonnet (I am a sucker for good harmonies, and nobody is better at harmonizing than the Andrews Sisters.) 

O - O Tannenbaum (Vince Guaraldi’s score for the Charlie Brown Christmas special is, basically, perfect. I love jazz. I love Christmas. A beautiful combination.)

B - Blood Muscle Skin & Bone (Definitely my favorite song from Brandi Carlile’s newest album.)

E - Easy Silence (This song always soothes me. It’s great to have friends it evokes, too.)

T - There She Goes (The first time I heard this song was in The Parent Trap, which was my favorite movie as a kid. The soundtrack was, I think, the first soundtrack I ever owned. Still love it.)

H - He's a Pirate (One of the best movie themes ever written.)

D - Dreaming (I went through a huge Blondie phase in high school. Borders was going out of business and had a huge sale, and there were like 5 Blondie CD’s for less than $20. I thought I should familiarize myself, so I did.)

A - And I Love Her (A little romance.)

L - Leader of the Pack (My brother, cousin and I used to dramatically sing this every time we got in a car together, which is kind of morbid now that I think about it. Although the morbidity is probably something we liked about it. Our parents raised us on the oldies, and this has always been a standard favorite for the drama of it. The back-up singers’ lines have made it into our family vernacular.)

L - La Nuit (I don’t remember particularly liking or disliking the movie Les Choriste, but I did really like the singing.)

O - On the Steps of the Palace (my favorite person - Anna Kendrick - singing one of my favorite songs from my favorite show, Into the Woods.)

W - Who Put the Bomp (This came on the radio when I was driving with my mom a while ago, She started singing along and reminiscing and I thought the song was so silly and cute. And it gave me some AYLT feels, so there’s that.) 

A - Anything You Can Do (Annie Get Your Gun was definitely my favorite show as a kid, and that is mostly thanks to the brilliant Bernadette Peters. Tom Wopat does a great job, too. They kill this song.) 

Y - Young and Beautiful (My brother thinks this song’s scene in The Great Gatsby is the most romantic sequence he’s ever seen in a movie. I gotta say, I do love this sound. It’s gorgeous.)
