you loved him, it seemed like he loved you, so why was it such a battle for him to commit?. he was quick to blame his lack of effort on his career – he was a footballer. how was he supposed to balance his career and his infatuation for you at once? you always expressed your confusion towards his behaviour. why was it such a struggle for him to put a label onto this relationship when his teammates seemed to do it easily? 

he brought you to his games, took you to dinner, he even encouraged you to meet the other wags. aurélien would do anything except call you his girlfriend. you didn't even want anything to do with him at first. when you two stumbled across each other at your friends event, you had just moved to madrid and swore that you wouldn't get caught up in anything or anyone, especially football players.

aurélien constantly assured you that he would change. he would unfollow all the instagram models he ogled at when it was 2am. he would treat you right. but as always, his promises were left empty and unfulfilled. you tried to distance yourself, spend more time with your girls. go shopping. maybe even find another guy, but all of those desperate attempts of escape could never compare to how aurélien made you feel. sure, the sex was life changing, but post-nut clarity always hit you hard – this wasn’t even a relationship. you and him would act civil for less than a week, argue about some girl, and then make love until both of you were weak. its not like you and aurélien were together, so why did you feel so affected by him hooking up with other girls?

you and aurélien had even made things official at one point – or at least you thought you did. he called you "his girl" in front of his entire team, so you cluelessly began acting as if two you would get married tomorrow. you would call him everyday. go to his place and sleep over. you even brought him around your best friend, who already told you he was bad luck. you performed "girlfriend duties" for almost 3 weeks straight, until you saw a dm from an of model asking when she would see him again. when you asked aurélien if he was cheating, he said "its not possible to cheat on someone you're just fucking". you wanted to slap him, you wanted to leave and never see him again. but the only thing that came out was "let's just go back to only fucking then, no strings"

when you caught aurélien in a lie once again, you decided it was enough. sure, you should've cut him off the first time, the old you would've gone insane if she found out you stayed after he tainted your once "perfect" relationship. this time, you directly told him it was over. he didn't think you were serious – fuck, you said you hated him all the time. you said you were done with him after intense and lengthy arguments, just to be a whining mess as he ate you till you were seeing stars. he didn't think you were serious, you'd come running back if he begged hard enough.

he didn't think you were serious until he saw you grinding on another guy at the club.

aurélien had come out to a popular club celebrate real madrid's win against villarreal. you had been ignoring his calls and leaving his desperate pleas to see you on read. he missed you, and the feeling had finally began to sink in. his teammates saw how his mind wasn't fully there. how he checked his phone any chance he could – even if it meant that he would be lectured by his coach about how important focus is while playing. kylian was the one to drag him out this time. his close friend had even made it clear that he wasn't entertaining any girls tonight, he had an actual girlfriend afterall. aurélien felt an ache in his heart when kylian had mentioned his flourishing relationship. he thought about how he could've had that too – if he hadn't thought with his dick throughout your "situationship".

he didn't see you at first. infact, he was more focused on the brunette girl who clearly had work done standing in front of him. you always felt insecure when with aurélien, especially since it seemed like every other girl he took interest in looked almost nothing like you. he constantly complimented your melanated skin, your tight coils that seemed to praise your face. your natural curves and every blemish that blessed your body. but you couldn't help but feel that it wasn't enough for him. despite what you thought, aurélien thought you were perfectly curated by God himself, which is why he even noticed you through the crowds.

he stared at you so attentively that the girl noticed as well, leaving him so he could deal with whatever chaos was within his heart. his mind flooded with thoughts. why were you here? did you change your hair? why would you wear a dress that short? who was that behind you? had you really moved on? fuck! he could barely handle the thought of another man stealing what's his, so how was he supposed to deal with seeing it? he contemplated walking right up to you and dragging you away, but he knew you would protest and cause a scene. should he try and make you jealous as we- "aurélien, is that your girl?" he heard kylian say beside him. he paused before he said anything. why was he even upset? he was the one who refused to commit, he constantly ran from defining your situation. he was the one who didn’t make you his girlfriend, and now someone else had taken his spot.

They don't think she's with him for the right reasons, that I'll tell. They think she's a rebound? Idk about him or his love life please correct me if I'm wrong but it's like he left someone for her and in their eyes it's like "why?". They also see her as someone who has a sharp tongue and is very strict with him, controlling, micromanaging even. They absolutely don't want her for their son as she's drifting them apart in the name of love, they see right through her and don't understand why he's there at all.

I think the most positive in this post. They see her as someone who can hold her own ground but also who can level him mentally, like when he's having moments of doubt or he gets insecure, she does help him. I don't see them thinking of them as actually in love but more so as a companionship that's working for him. She's like a breath of fresh air in their eyes and someone who brings a lot of curiosity to his life, a lot of young energy to him in a good way, who's bringing positive change. I think of all these parents, they're the most chill lmao.

Well, didn't we know. They think she's a fun time but not serious, like when parents look at someone and they're like "haha she's fun, it's nice you have a friend like that" until they realise you're dating them and they dislike it because they're not "wife material". Now they know they're dating they think she's nothing but trouble and brings chaos everywhere she goes. They do see how she ticks a lot of boxes when thinking of his ideal woman, but they're literally waiting for this to burn instead of really saying anything to him. They see her as smart, no doubt but just not wife material....
