some.... major emil changes

i always tried to make him this manipulative Mastermind uwu n it. Never worked or fit him n it always made him Underwhelming, so. im aiming for a different villain type!

now his personality’s more.. focused on his backstory? he’s more manipulable, more prone and desperate to do things that make him feel important. before i made him too prideful to work for other people, but it never worked out well. changing that.

so basically, he and seth weren’t biological brothers, or i think that’s what i’m aiming for? they were both orphans, found each other, and bonded quickly. they weren’t especially close or a good match, but they were all each other had.

an idea that also came to mind while i was writing this that would be cliche but would probably fit emil’s character would be that he ran from another village because his family was awful and he was convinced they were out to get him.

when they grew up, seth did all of the stealing, got all of the food, found shelter, stood up to rudeass kids n parents in the village, introduced emil to milo (emil’s childhood crush)

so emil admired him and looked up to him a lot. he didn’t think much of it as kid, but part of it always made him a bit upset.

when seth started learning magic, going from not only a better human to a witch, this turned into jealousy. emil grew distant, more cynical. he started getting afraid that seth was tired of him, just wanted to get rid of him, saw him as a stupid responsibility. emil got more snappy, a bit more closed off and haughty.

so emil started going to blacksmiths in the village for lessons, learning to make himself useful in that way, until seth’s magic got found out, they were found out, n seth burned the whole village. seth became a demon.

they just traveled for a bit, seth practicing and emil slowly getting more and more bitter. seth wasn’t quite power hungry then; he was, but he wasn’t actively, chaotically, seeking out power.

when emil asked him to make him a demon too, though, it clicked for seth. he had the power to give people what they wanted. he could help people, yes, but have control and power over them. he’d read about souls. he wanted souls.

so he took emil’s soul, and emil’s fear that seth just wanted him dead increased. why wouldn’t he just do a favor for his brother for free? his resentment increased. he became bitter. he looked up to seth, but he was really just as selfish as everyone else.

the brothers went their separate ways after that, now that emil could look after himself

eventually, he...trapped seth in the book and their real rivalry started

the reason he’s so infatuated with aures is because he’s always wanted to be special to somebody like seth was special to him. he wanted somebody to rely on him. so he goes too far with aures, acts like a Douche TM, does his best to set up scenarios where he saves the day to make himself look like some hero

another random mass headcanon post -w-;

emil can't stand being ignored or underestimated. he has a creepy/calm outer surface and seems to have an annoying amount of energy, but it takes only some sort of disrespect to get him to drop that and get pissed.

aures is deathly afraid of government-run/important facilities such as hospitals, airports, and police stations and refuses to go to any of them no matter how crucial it is that he does so.

emil is a talented blacksmith / metalworker. he crafted his sword and embedded it with magic, and is very attached to it. it's almost like a good luck charm

ximen is actually a pretty decent cook. he just happens to be very lazy.

valerie is very open emotionally, and takes pride in her antiques, but she's too much of a 'coward' to do much else. at least, that's how she sees herself.

most of valerie's goods are passed down from her family or are stolen. once in a blue moon, she buys or trades for them.

nadir has a pet turtle and is very interested in gemstones. he has a small piece of quartz that he keeps next to his turtle's tank.

seth's skin is very warm; overall, he's very ... cuddable. if someone were to lay with him his stomach is the perfect shape to snuggle against and he's all soft edges and when he's tired he's very gentle/quiet/content and he has this soft smile. imagine a cat dozing in the sun, that’s him.

wynn loves sour candy. they’re known to cram whole packs of sour patch kids in their mouth. they’ll only eat sour skittles, and they like the sour juice squirt candies.

seth prefers having long-term clients who break their deal after a few weeks or so. this gives him time to brainstorm a mask that would perfectly fit them. he loves sketching them out, then carving the wood and painting it by hand. he enjoys the feeling of wood shavings brushing against his hand as he flicks them to the floor. the only time he uses magic to make them is by using the mask’s owner’s soul as energy to seal the paint.

when null was first made, he once asked aures to buy him a hat to cover his battery. to his delight, most people were fooled despite his mechanic undertone, and saw him as a human. that is, until he ran into kumi. due to studying notes and music, and having felt how hard his hands were, she guessed what he was and they became friends.

// TW: self harm // wynn being a ... masochist, for lack of better words, extends beyond other people hurting them. when bored, they’ll pick or cut at their skin. they like the burst of adrenaline it gives them and have no shame in enjoying being hurt. most of the cuts/bruises all over their body are from “accidents”, them being “clumsy”, or self harm rather than other people hurting them.

aures: short, round babyface, chubby, thickish thighs, slight chest, usually bounces a lil or puts a pep in his step when he walks, but also hesitates/stumbles a lot

seth: average height, skinny but has a lil tum thats not noticable, round edges, walks very casually but w/ importance/purpose, skin is always warm

ximen: super scrawny/lean, sharp elbows, hunched a lot, but very fast on feet so he's not super unhealthy per se

akahana: very curvy/hourglass, BUSTY XDDDD, has a noticable tum, face is a lil round

bo: short but taller than aures, is Not z-cup bobo but has average bobos, not many curves, average weight/in shape, always walks straight n makes eye contact

wynn: around bo's height, has a baby face n slight curves but no tummy, dainty hands/feet/everything, hardly stays still

null: wide chest like not like bobos or super muscular idk how 2 explain, tall, stocky/stiff n awkward arms n legs, big feet, average tum, he's a ROBOT, big nose

emil: a lil over average height, average weight but no tum, pointy joints, always standing v straight, skinny face, long fingers

valerie: TALL, average weight, bigish feet, roundish knees/elbows, clumsy

nadir: average height, wide shoulders but not football-wide, usually slumped, average tum but his limbs r bony

haruko: a lil short, a lil stocky, chubb n has thick thighs but has a flat chest

maud: similar to seth; average height, all soft edges, round face, larger than normal eyes, big hands
