Okay okay I'm rereading Chilling reflections which OBVIOUSLY means I need to obsess over all the details I've missed
Sticking it under a read more bc y'know SPOILERS for both Chilling Reflections and Villains Vignettes
The ring is described as dark with tinges of red.
Fornax red, like the color of the glyphs in his eyes when he calls upon his power. Add in its a ring he has seen before, it feels like something that would realistically belong to belong to the Other Fornax (presumably Vlad!Fornax).
The way Ivan talks about the owner of the ring, it implies that other owner could still be around and be unwilling to like just hand it over to Auro.
Other owner might have survived and still be around. He certainly talks like the owner could be around.
We know there is BOUND to be some sort of big exciting final battle most likely in Ivan's adventures in Perleverse. In Vignettes II, The Priestess and the Peril, Ivan even thinks concernedly about that potential of fighting another Fornax. And how to keep the planet safe bc of Elya's presence.
Add in how he responds to Tori's suggestion of a squad of Fornaxes and it seems unlikely they just teamed up somehow. Even with the alternative universe Order of the Final Dawn to unite them.
So is other Fornax alive and if so how the did Auro get the ring from him? And if he isn't alive, why did Ivan talk about it that way. Perhaps Vlad died after the events and Auro picked that ring up from there.
He did have a magic coin to keep track of Ivan staying alive.
Perhaps he had a way to track Vlad's life and yoinked it as the other meta vanished.
It really feels like it would be fitting for the Ring to belong to Vlad but like it brings so many questions as to what is going to come down and how it will come down within the Vignettes. Also special mention:
WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT IVAN IS REMEMBERED AS THE FEARSOME CONQUERER!!! WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!
