insanely fitting that the dreamt Aurora Lynch's favourite story is a version of Pygmalion
maura sargent: heartbreaker 💔
Matthew Lynch is simultaneously Niall and Aurora's lovingly adopted child and Ronan's oopsie baby and Declan's teen mom thwarted abortion, and all of these being true at once is crucial to understanding his position in the family
if aurora had survived the cabeswater stuff at the end of trc it would've been really interesting to see her get dragged into the fairy market/sweetmetal stuff, and in particular i think she should've gotten to meet mor and the new fenian. and also she should've, i don't know, made out with hennessy a little bit.

aeternum vale, out now on AO3!

The week after Ronan’s father died, the sun came toppling down.
It was a fittingly dramatic death. Niall Lynch: the man who dealt in magic, larger than life and just as fragile, was the same man whose birth shook the earth and whose death drenched the world in fire.
Acta est fabula, plaudite.

Ronan Lynch, after.
Niall dreaming aurora in a way that she always picks up on his moods and begins sexual intimacy (with him and only him) to try and convince himself that this is aaalll totallyy consensual between them both. Is this anything.
ohh this is highly compelling. how could niall be violating anyone's autonomy when aurora is Literally asking for it (<- top ten things niall thinks so he can sleep some nights). also from aurora's end it would obviously be horrifying to know that right now there's something you should be doing, and you're going to do it, and want it, even when you don't (and even when you maybe aren't capable of knowing whether you actually want it or not).
also i wonder if that fucked up declan ronan and matthew's ideas about consent within a marriage a lot? i mean declan knew the deal with mor and aurora so he knew aurora wasn't technically a "person," but i feel like seeing her (and her lack of apparent autonomy) influenced how he sees matthew's autonomy as a dream (which declan seems to think of as pretty limited - although that doesn't seem to apply to All dreamt people because he doesn't seem to have any trouble recognizing jordan's autonomy, but that could also be because he knew her as a person before finding out she was a dream and he had had some development wrt his view on matthew at that point), so i wonder if seeing aurora caused ronan (didn't know about the dream thing until trc) to develop any questionable ideas about what a non-dreamt wife/spouse should be like. which. could play into his dynamics with gansey and later adam? interestingly aurora is the only other lynch i can think of right now who gets compared to a dog besides ronan, although not in quite the same context as ronan (blue says she has the attention span of a puppy or something like that in bllb i think?)
making this it's own thing instead of a huge reply but re: @afurtivecake's replies to this post, i was thinking that it really would be funny if greenmantle, hiring a hitman to kill niall, was also like "make sure you sleep with his wife beforehand." but also like imagine that from aurora's perspective because presumably she has. some? of mor's memories of people/the world outside her immediate family, but probably she, personally, has never been like. flirted with? by someone other than niall? so one day some stranger visits the barns (strangers don't seem to usually visit the barns) and. wait actually does aurora ever leave the barns pre-coma. does she do that. can she do that? okay for this post she's at the barns. and this stranger is being really weirdly nice and charming in a way she typically associates with niall and only niall (i assume she's not going on a lot of girls' nights or anything because. literal dreamt housewife). and then. wait and then is aurora Able to be attracted to/in love with people other than niall or would he have dreamt her to not be able to do that because if that's the case it's horrific. for this post assume she's capable of infidelity. i forgot where this post was going but basically i imagine seduction by a hitman would be really weird for aurora just in terms of like. top ten things she's never personally experienced probably.
