Aurora Optima
The new Auroloide version of the Optima range features hand-finished trims and great attention down to the smallest detail. The cap and barrel are made of marbled Auroloide, an antique material, yet refined and prestigious.
Now, this pen is what you would call my Grail Pen. What is a Grail pen? A grail pen is usually very expensive and/or hard to obtain. One that someone is coveting. For me, this falls into the expensive category.
I have wanted this pen ever since I’ve seen a pen review made by The Pen Habit, however, the pen reviewed was a different colour than mine.
I love this pen, it is a top favourite of mine and that isn’t going to change for a very very long time. It’s a total beast when writing, smooth, wet, utterly reliable. It holds a lot of ink and has a nifty compartment that holds a bit of ink as back up. It’s comfortable in the hand and not heavy but very well built.
I have every intention of buying more Aurora brand pens in the future, but regardless of cost. This one will always be that coveted pen that I count as my Grail Pen.
The ink I have currently have in it is my Noodler’s Dark Swan Australian Rose which is a fantastic ink in its own right.
