Hey all! A lot of things have delayed me announcing the books of my summer reading list. To all who have asked, no I haven’t started without you lol. So, here’s my 3 selections & brief reasoning behind why I chose them. There’s one book that’s “Highly Anticipated” meaning I’ve wanted to read it for a looooong time. One that’s a “Personal Favorite” of mine that would be refreshing to reread in this time and place. And the last is a “Canon’s Choice” , aka a book that is considered to be apart of the literary canon that we all should probably have under our belt lol. Don’t feel compelled to read every single one with me, I understand that we all read & comprehend in different intervals and that’s ok!
1. Highly Anticipated The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho
Okay, okay. Don’t shoot me, but I’ve never read this. Better late than never right? I’ve heard extremely good things about this book @ Bizzy Crook’s next project is said to be heavily influenced by this work so I’m excited to read this gem.
2. Personal Favorite The Wind Up Bird Chronicle - Haruki Murakami
This book is by my favorite author and I couldn’t make this list without this one. I read this book last when I was in high school and I remember it meaning much to me but I vaguely remember it now so I look forward to reading it with you all.
3. Canon’s Choice 100 Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
I’ve heard the name of this book tossed around so much but I’ve never gotten around to reading it. The synopsis has me intrigued so hopefully it proves to be a good read.
* I’m pretty sure that one if not all of these books could even be found online for free using a quick search.
I’ll be starting on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 with The Alchemist. If you intend on reading along with me, shoot me a msg with ur email please for further info.
