today is kyouheis birthday ! he is the leader of disgraced unit , DEICIDE . hes nanashis half brother , and a self-proclaimed " prophet " of his , although he is unaware of actual prophets or the realities of the above .
So we know about Touko, Touya, and Mei, what about Kyohei?
Despite their names sounding similar, Mei and Kyouhei actually aren't related in any manner - they're not twins, siblings, or even cousins. The latter is, more or less, another rival for the former in Sisterhood, but not in battle.
Kyouhei is a young celebrity actor at Pokéstar Studios along with his partner Pokémon, Serperior. (In canon, Hue owns the first partner Pokémon which has the type advantage against the protagonist's. However, even though Mei has chosen Oshawott, I feel Emboar suits him more and Serperior should belong to Kyouhei instead.) He's also a self-absorbed jerk!
However, his ego didn't manifest from nowhere - he does indeed possess an incredible amount of talent. Kyouhei landed his first role at the age of twelve, and although these roles were ultimately minor, he stole absolutely every single scene in each film he was featured in. Then he began gaining supporting roles, until finally becoming a star at the age of sixteen as well as one of the Unova region's heartthrobs. Nearly the entire acting world knows his name.
Unfortunately, Kyouhei's newfound fame has warped his personality, and thus far none of his co-stars or members of the production team can find the courage to reprimand him.
They fear the consequences of upsetting him because he's such an influential figure, he's considered an invaluable asset to the studios' success in addition to the very present possibility no one will believe what he's truly like when there aren't any cameras rolling.
Kyouhei's acting abilities also extend to how he behaves when in the presence of women. He has a terrible habit of toying with the hearts of his young lady co-stars, essentially morphing into their ideal man, then shatters their expectations when he becomes bored with them. But perhaps the worst part is, he truly doesn't seem to acknowledge how reprehensible this is.
All the world is basically a stage
in the eyes of Kyouhei.
More specifically, the world is his stage, where he's not only always playing the starring role, but is also the screenwriter and director. And everyone else he encounters is either someone he's cast into a supporting role, there for the sole purpose of assisting him in shining brighter, or they're a background character, not worthy of notice.
And then Mei arrives at Pokéstar Studios.
Hue happens to witness Kyouhei revealing his true twisted persona and causing yet another one of his co-stars to flee from him in tears. He then attempts to warn Mei when the studios take an interest in her, especially since Kyouhei can and has before adopted the personalities of the princely characters she so adores.
Much to Hue's and particularly Kyouhei's total astonishment however, she immediately sees through his mask!
Mei: *points at Kyouhei dramatically*
You're a PHONY!!
Kyouhei: *mouth agape*
Wh-What do you mean I'm a phony?!
Mei: Just what I said! Who do you think you are, trying to toy with the heart of this pretty young lady by pretending to be her prince?! You're a faker! You're a narcissist! You're disgusting!
Each one of her statements is the equivalent of a super effective hit. Kyouhei is so taken aback, he literally falls backwards. As immensely frustrated and embarrassed as Kyouhei is, he also can't help but feel a sense of fascination towards Mei.
This... has never happened to him before! Someone has at last dared to go off the script he's written!
And thus, Mei bestows and solely addresses Kyouhei with the title of "The Phony Prince". This doesn't deter him even slightly though, the opposite as a matter of fact - he proceeds to relentlessly pursue her attention and affection.
Kyouhei: *to Hue* You should kiss that girl goodbye while you have the chance, because sooner or later she's gonna be mine.
Hue: *grabs Kyouhei by the front of his shirt and raises his fist*
Kyouhei: *high-pitched yelp* NO! Not the face!
This is what I meant before when I stated Mei has two and a half love interests, that Kyouhei is sort of one but the situation is complicated. He eventually develops an obsession then sincere affections towards her, but his feelings are ultimately unrequited. However, meeting Mei is what causes Kyouhei to realize and accept he needs to change and become a better person.
The Van Gang™ are all tied for my 2nd favorite characters. They're all really just out there living their best lives and occasionally pausing to cleanup everyone else's messes because they're bored and Kyouhei has the misfortune of being the only genuinely good person in Ikebukoro.
