Hi~ so I was looking through your blog and saw one of the asks saying that lots of Artemis fans dislike Apollo and I was so surprised! Why and How? Aren't they twins? And are very close as far as I know. How can you love one and despise the other? I'm genuinely puzzled. Anyway love you as always I hope you have nice weather there😃☀
I have seen quite a few of them unfortunately!! First time I saw that happen was when I was active in the PJO fandom, the fans characterize Artemis as this smart older sister who's always done with her dumb younger brother, but the books themselves characterise the twins that way so I didn't think that it was the fault of the readers.
But when I started getting more into Greek mythology, I was actually so surprised to see many die hard Artemis lovers hate on Apollo. Some of them even hated Apollo for certain things but loved Artemis even though she also did the same thing (killing Niobe's children for example). I feel like their attitude was that because she's a goddess she can do no wrong. Or at least, whatever she does is less awful because she's a goddess and if Apollo does the exact same thing he's more awful because he's a god 😂 I think a lot of those fans perceived her as a feminist because she is traditionally the protector of women, and Apollo has some stories of harassing and assaulting women. But whenever I come across such people I wonder if they actually read any of Artemis' myths at all? Because she never bothered about any of her brother's actions and even killed a woman for cheating on him. They're thick as thieves, ride or die for each other ✊
