Who likes having their hair washed by who? and Who’s more likely to find who wearing their clothes? for Aurora/Cullen and Avarielle/Alistair :D
Aaaaahhhhhh <3
Aurora/Cullen: They both love having their hair washed by each other, but Aurora takes special care and pride in tending to Cullen in this way. The first time that she did it, she could tell that he was embarrassed. He was much bigger than her, and she had to sit a little awkwardly to reach. Cullen was embarassed to be tended to in such a way, but he found that he loved it dearly. Aurora started taking it outside of the bath, rubbing her fingers through his hair and over his neck, especially when he had a long day.
Avarielle/Alistair: Avarielle turns into a puddle of goo when Alistair washes/plays with her hair. Like, she could be all fired up about something. All Alistair would have to do is start scrubbing her hair and she melts against him!
Aurora/Cullen: Cullen actually has a scarf of Aurora’s that he keeps with him and it dosn’t really leave his person. It travels with him, in his office, in his quarters. It smells like her and is emerald, like her eyes. Aurora sometimes steals Cullen’s furs when he’s not looking or when she’s cold. Cullen comments about how cute she looks, the furs way too big for her.
Avarielle/Alistair: Avarielle likes to steal Alistair’s shirts, especially when they’re getting ready for bed and he’s just taken it off. Usually it’s still warm and she loves the feeling of his big warm shirts.
12, 19, 25 for the first ships that come to your mind!
12: Who initiates kisses?
Aurora x Cullen: I think that it’s fairly dependent on the situation. Both of them are very private about their relationship. Everybody in their close circle knows, but they still don’t do much for PDA. I would say that it’s more Aurora that initiates the kisses. They’re usually fleeting, soft little pecks while leaving the War Room or when they pass in a secluded hallway. When they’re in Cullen’s office/room or her quarters, it’s more 50/50. Cullen loves to pull Aurora in close and kiss her long and slow.
19: Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?
Leah x Fenris: Leah tells Merrill and Isabella first after having a few drinks. She dosn’t mean to, but it slips out that they’ve gotten very close, Leah visiting Fenris often. After Fenris and Leah reconnect, their group is (embarassingly) rejoiced.
25: Who needs the most assurance?
Aeryn x Zevran: Aeryn is actually severely insecure about their relationship. Once she and Zevran are actually together, she never worries that he’ll cheat on her, but worries that he’ll eventually wake up and see that she’s a wreck with relationships and that he can do better. The first time that they try to make love, she breaks down in tears. This is due to past abuse. It takes weeks before she is comfortable enough to sleep with him. It takes her a while to realize that when Zevran calls her beautiful, calls her stunning, says that he loves her, that he actually means it. She loves him with all of her heart, but it’s hard for her to realize that he actually loves her back.
Cullen gets a “Soup Spirit” that watches over him and makes sure that he eats.
They start randomly one day, these little gifts of food and beverages that appear on his desk. Cullen walks through the doorway, body tired and achy from the day of tactical planning and training. He shuts the door behind him, heaving a sigh, rolling his shoulders. He walks over to his desk, mind busied with the paperwork that was still to be done, when he notices a covered copper platter sitting on his desk. He makes a puzzled expression, foolishly looking around his office before looking back down at it. Cautiously, he approaches his desk. He's wary of random dishes on his desk ever since the last incident with Sera. He's still finding bits of cheese splattered on his walls to this day.
Cullen takes a breath and slowly lifts the lid, and a waft of steam seeps out from under it. He sets the lid to the side, staring down at the platter. A piping hot bowl of delicious looking stew sits before him. Beside it, a spoon placed delicately on folded cloth. Cullen's mouth waters at the smell of the stew. He realizes that he hadn't eaten much for the day, and his stomach is letting him know that. Loudly. But who left this for him? He notices that a piece of parchment is poking out from underneath the platter. Cullen gingerly pulls it out and unfolds it.
Commanders of the Inquisition need to eat, as well. Please stay healthy.
-Soup Spirit
Cullen lets out a laugh. "Soup Spirit?" He chuckles to himself. Who in the world could this be? Cole? Varric? Jim? Just a concerned soldier or kitchen worker? Cullen shakes his head, rubbing a hand over his chin to smooth out his grin. He sits at his desk and pulls the chair up. He then pulls off his gloves and metal bracers, setting them aside on the desk. He prays like always before a meal, picks up the spoon and takes a small sip of the soup.
He gratefully devours the bowl, the stew warming his very soul. Going to bed full with good, non-rationed food was something that he was still getting used to.
The Commander notices this 'Soup Spirit' making frequent visits over the next couple of weeks. Stew, fresh cornbread, cookies; there was even a large leg of ram garnished with herbs one day. He had to know who it was that was dropping off these meals. Not that he was the least bit ungrateful for them. He's finishing up a small snack of reserved cornbread when a soft knock taps against his door. Cullen quickly wipes his mouth. "Come in," he calls. The door opens, and Aurora peaks her head around the edge. "Oh, hello Inquisitor," Cullen smiles, a little too largely.
"Good afternoon, Commander," she smiles, closing the door behind her. "Leliana wanted to give you these reports for the last scouting mission in The Western Approach," Aurora says, approaching the desk and handing the report over to Cullen.
"Oh, thank you. You didn't have to bring them to me," Cullen says, but regrets it. He doesn't want her to think that he doesn't want to see her. Aurora just simply smiles at him, her emerald colored eyes twinkling in the sunlight streaming into his office.
"I don't mind. I like walking the Ramparts," Aurora says. She then looks off to the side of him, to his desk. "Having a mid-afternoon snack?" Aurora teases. Cullen gives her a quizzical look before looking to his desk, where a wedge of cornbread is sitting unwrapped on a cloth. Cullen flushes.
"I-well-" Cullen coughs, flushing deeper.
"There's no need to be embarrassed, Cullen," Aurora giggles. Hearing his name from her lips, hearing his name instead of his title, it's something recent. Only since their kiss on the Ramparts. He's still not used to it, but Maker how he loves it.
"I've actually been receiving little treats every couple of days. It's been refreshing, to be honest," Cullen says.
"Well, it sounds like you have a little food spirit watching over you," Aurora smiles. The comment was meant to be passive, but it makes Cullen look up at her. Aurora blinks a few times, and Cullen notices a flush starting to bloom across her cheeks.
"....Wait," Cullen starts, a smile slowly spreading across his lips, stretching his scar. "Has...has it been you?" Cullen asks. Aurora flushes deeper, her hands coming up to clasp in front of her; a nervous tic.
"I-I don't know what you're-" Cullen's chuckle stops her. She's a terrible liar. Aurora sighs. "Okay. Yes...it's...it's been me..." Aurora mumbles, her eyes dropping down to the floor. Cullen, for his part, is completely dumbfounded. He's happy, he's confused, he feels cared for. "I-I wanted to make sure that you w-were eating properly!" Aurora stutters. "You look so dreadfully tired half the time, and I know that you train, and you don't sleep well, and you-I-that is-ugh!" Aurora lets out a frustrated groan. "I just wanted to do something nice for you. You do so much already." There's a heavy pause in between the two of them.
"I....this is the nicest thing that anybody has ever done for me," Cullen says slowly, still in awe. This woman, this incredible woman who is fighting to save all of their lives, somebody who already has enough on her plate, making sure that he and the rest of the Inquisition are healthy to the best of the current situation. She didn't scare when he told her that he was no longer taking Lyrium, she didn't scare when she walked into his office and was nearly hit by a flying Lyrium bottle. No, she has stayed through it all. Cullen stands, sliding a hand hesitant hand up her arm. "Thank you. Truly. This is...I've never felt so cared for," Cullen smiles. Aurora smiles wide, a quiet giggle bubbling in her chest. "How you manage to be the driving force of this Inquisition and still find the time to care for all of us like we're your family, I will never know. But I will always respect," Cullen smiles, leaning down and pressing a kiss to Aurora's lips. He feels softness give under her lips, a smile spreading and morphing. Cullen pulls back a little, bringing a hand up to stroke the warm skin of her cheek. "Okay?" Cullen asks.
"More than okay," Aurora smiles. Cullen chuckles.
"Good," He says, pressing another quick kiss to her lips before pulling back fully.
"There is something that you can do for me," Aurora says.
"Anything, just name it," Cullen declares.
"The Soup Spirit...sh-they would very much like to have supper with the Commander of the Inquisition later tonight, Maker willing that he isn't buried in paperwork," Aurora smiles, a hint of a tease in her tone. Cullen snorts lightly.
"I do think that the Commander can spare some time for such a dire situation," Cullen confirms with a grin, leaning down to press a kiss to Aurora's forehead.
Maker's breath, he's really fallen hard for this woman.
4 on the headcanons thing for...well, why not all three~?
“Best places to kiss on their body”
Oho anon~
Aurora Lavellan: She loves it when Cullen kisses her forehead. He’ll brush her hair out of the way ever so gently and press the softest kiss there. It just melts her heart. He’ll also sometimes pick her hand up and kiss it. She called him her “Ferelden Prince” once, and he groaned in embarrassment at the name, but it made him grin nonetheless.
Avarielle Mahariel: Her shoulders and the little juncture in between her neck and shoulder. She’s all freckles there and Alistair loves to kiss them and comment on them, saying how they remind him of clusters of stars. Avarielle certainly doesn’t mind. Of course, Alistair being the big dork that he is, he’ll sneak in a raspberry and it makes Avarielle squeal. Loudly. He’s had a pillow tossed at his head more than once because of this. He calls her ‘baby dragon’ after the first time she does it.
Aeryn Surana: Sweet little mage has never been in a relationship. She’s had feelings for people, but it’s never been past that. Since her incident at the tower, she has been nervous about being romantically involved with anybody. Many thought that her and Cullen were together, but they were never more than close friends. So when she meets Zevran, her world is turned upside-down. There are times that he’ll do a legitimate massage, not his Antivan Massage and he’ll kiss his way across her upper back, mapping the scars that she has acquired since becoming a Grey Warden. He also pays close attention to the little scar on her forehead, which also happened during the incident at the Circle. Her hair normally covers it, but he’ll push it back and softly kiss her there. He never pushes why or how she got it, waiting until she eventually becomes comfortable enough with him to tell her.
Send me a number and a character and i’ll give you a headcanon!
Commander Cullen took pride in hiswork. He threw himself into it day in and day out. He was dedicated, butsometimes he pushed himself a little too deeply into it; at times forgettingthe world around him. Not unlike now.
Cullen was sitting at his desk, brows furrowed down at his paperwork. It was mid spring, and his open windowbrought in a cool breeze along with the noises of Skyhold. He was so enthralledin his work that he didn’t hear the knock at the door. He didn’t hear the dooropen, and he most certainly didn’t hear her step inside. Aurora calls his name, smiling to herself when he kept his gaze down. She calls his name again as sheapproaches him. Cullen grunts, but at the papers in front of him.“Cuuullen,” Aurora calls again as she was right next to him, placinga soft hand to his shoulder. Cullen jumps at the pressure. “Boo!”
"Wha-Maker’s breath, Aurora,“ He startles, golden honey eyes wide."Don’t sneak up on me like that!”
"Is it sneaking up on you whenI knock, announce myself, and call your name three times?“ Aurora teases, sliding her hand through his fur mantle. Cullen flushes at her comment.
"O-oh? You did? Forgive me, Ididn’t…” Cullen trails off, hand coming up to rub at his neck.
"Didn’t hear me? I gathered,“Aurora says, her bright green eyes twinkling with humor. "And who is itthat you’re trying to mentally set aflame this time?” Aurora peaks overhis shoulder at his paperwork. Cullen’s hand quickly flutters around the papersin front of him.
"N-no one!“ Cullen stutters.Aurora’s brow shoots up in surprise. Was he embarrassed?
"Well, now I just have to know,” she says with a widesmile, leaning over and removing his hands. “Commander Cullen, I have laid awake, thinking of you day…and…andnight,” Aurora starts to read, but stops as her eyes scan thedocument. She quickly looks to the bottom of the page, where the letter issigned in a beautiful hand script.
"It’s one of those damnednobles from Orlais. They’ve been sending me letters since the Winter Palace tryingto…woo me,“ Cullen says infrustration.
"Leliana and Josie weren’tjoking when they said that you had piqued interest,” Aurora says, shiftingone letter out of the way to find another. The hand that was running over hismantle came to rest on the back of his neck; absentmindedly stroking the skinthere. Cullen sighs heavily.
"I don’t know how to be moreclear! I have no interest in any of these women…and men!“ Cullen grindshis teeth. Aurora’s eyes pour over pieces of the letters, and her face flushesslightly at a few of them.
"Oh…oh my,” Aurora saysquietly. Cullen tips his head back, running his thumb and middle finger overhis brow.
"Yes. Some of them are alittle…provocative,“ Cullen explains. Aurora pauses.
"Creators…maybe I should sendsome of these to Varric. He might gain some inspiration,” Aurora says airily.
"Aurora!“ Cullen groans.
"Joking! Joking,” Auroracan’t hide the giggle in her voice. She steps away and half-sits on the edge ofhis desk. She holds out her hand on her thigh, and Cullen gladly puts hisgloved hand in hers.
"I apologize, I shouldn’t becomplaining about this to you,“ Cullen sighs. Aurora purses her lips.
"You aren’t interested in anyof these letters, correct?” She asks, and Cullen’s brows shoot up in surprise.
"Maker’s breath, no!“ Cullen says, alarmed by herquestion. Aurora smiles at him, lacing her fingers together with his.
"Then don’t apologize,” Auroraleans forward a little. “I’m only poking a little fun at you.”
"Good. Because I care for you agreat deal and…and I wouldn’t want anybody like them. Anybody else, for thatmatter,“ Cullen admits softly, running his other hand over her leg. Aurora slides off of her seat on his desk. She bends slightly, cupping hisface with her small hands and kisses him gently. She pulls back after a moment, catching Cullen with his eyes closed. Her nose wrinkles with a smile when heopens them and smiles warmly at her.
"Good, because I care for you a great deal,” Aurora says, kissing the tip of his nosebefore pulling away. “I have to go talk with Dorian about some informationthat he’s gained on Corypheus from his talking with Morrigan and Hawke,”Aurora explains. “Meet me for a game of chess in our secret spot latertonight?” Their “secret spot” was a small secluded library withtwo large chairs down several hallways under Skyhold. Aurora had found itwithin the first month of them being there.
"Iwouldn’t miss it,“ Cullen agrees with a wide smile, watching her walk out of his office.
Thank you so much for prompting this with them! I really enjoyed it!
Send me a pair and a number and I’ll write a drabble!
Notes on the Inquisitor, from the desk of Commander Cullen,
Quiet. Very quiet.
Won't look anybody in the eyes. Habit or nervous? Plotting something?
Is she eating at all? Maker she's thin...
Pale. Sunken cheeks. Dark circles.
I think that I heard her crying the other day...has anybody checked on her?
She acts as though nothing is wrong but something is wrong. Can you check on her? You're better at this than I am.
She approached me the other day. Asking odd trivial questions. She looked me in the eyes.
Starting to get a flush back to her cheeks.
She's been reading to the children in Haven that the refugees have been coming with. She's quite motherly.
She seems to genuinely want to help the cause.
She brought me bread during my watch time? She didn't tell me why.
She's laughing openly. Bright pret healthy eyes.
I think that she will do well with us, Leliana.
A correspondence to Commander Cullen from Sister Leliana,
I think that she will too, Commander.
-And you.
Me being stupid and pouring my feels out at 12:30am. Based off of some of the other posts floating around. I like to think that Leliana picks up on a romance budding between the Inquisitor and Commander fairly early on.
