"The Love That I Know"

Today I had Austin Lyons in the studio for some pre-production for his solo record. We spent the majority of the time arranging the rest of the instruments around his acoustic and vocal parts. Good times.

Mmmm. Lord. Aside from the intro to this song giving me goosebumps; the first chant "water an powder!" making me feel like my spirit is about to fly out my body just to rejoice, this song restores/restored/is restoring a bit of faith -- just makes me remember to give thanks for the resilience of human spirit and creativity. Allyuh hear lyrics...?! Can't call this one a mindless soca tune. What else can I expect from the High priest of Soca -- Super Blue. When he says hallelujah I feel it, when he says "I just here to say I love you/a voice from out the blue" I feel like crying just because I feel FILLED! Welcome back Austin Lyons! I didn't realise what was missing till I heard this and I hope to make Soca Monarch on Fantastic Friday to hear dat bell ring and dat horn blow and to feel my spirit jump out to bounce in unison with everyone else's. I felt since last carnival a stirring -- this this one would be spiritual -- I have confirmation with this. Not only has my own process creatively and personally been exploring the spiritual but I feel it in the air. I feel like this song is a hope and a prayer...a moment of clarity -- truth breaking the surface of all kinds of folly. It's beautiful. I could cry. I still have goosebumps. And this on replay.
