please remember!
I have a couple questions about tomatoes for a story I'm writing. I'm wondering, how well can a tomato plant survive without someone caring for it? Is it at all realistic for someone to find one still somewhat alive in an old garden that was abandoned and then revive it?
I can rework the story to use a different plant, but I figured I'd at least try tomatoes first, and ask someone who actually know things about them lol.
Thank you! 😊
Here is an image of a tomato plant growing out of a crack in the sidewalk:
As you can see, it's thriving. Here's another one:
And here's a 9-foot Cherry tomato plant that just fucking appeared in the person's yard over their vacation:
So it's not particularly likely your character would find a dying tomato plant to nurse back to health, because they THRIVE on Neglect. What they'll find is a MASSIVELY OVERGROWN TOMATO TREE that has probably killed two of it's neighbors and is looking to go a little Ghengis Khan on any surrounding architecture.
My most successful and bountiful tomato plant was a 7ft vine that seemed to laugh and grow more when I forgot to water it. Every tomato plant, no matter the variety, that I have coddled and nursed has told me to fuck off. Then they’d die.

The Order of the Wakandan Tribes - (2021)
A follow up to The Order of The Avengers (available HERE and HERE). All the outfits are inspired by the ones of various African people (Maasai people, Zulu people, Himba people, etc..) but also by concept art from the book The Art of Black Panther.

Worth watching
I don’t mean to impose a personal favour on you guys, but I really would like to ask that everyone who follows me reblog this.
I don’t think I made it very clear but last month I was sexually assaulted by someone who I thought was my friend (I don’t want to talk about it don’t ask), and it’s… really fucked with my head.
Had I known this a month ago I would have been able to get away.
So, essentially, I’m really pleading with you to reblog this so everyone who follows you doesn’t get stuck in the same position I was with no way out.
I mean again I don’t want the point of this to be my sob story or whatever but if you could reblog this it would seriously mean a lot
and im asking to all of my followers who see this post in your dashboard to please press play to this video, you never know when this is gonna be useful, PLEASE DON’T IGNORE IT.
This is one of the first moves I was taught in Krav Maga, and it is one of the most effective.
It took me about a half hour to get down with practice, but once you get it, it’s an intuitive movement.
Please pass this along, it will save lives.
this is extremely important, definitely learn this. i see several problems with it, and things that should be added though.
for one thing, scream immediately, not in fear like, help! help! but in rage like GET THE FUCK OFF ME!!!! because that will surprise and repel him right away and he doesn’t want you going off like a loud alarm, alerting any surrounding people, being aggressive, challenging, fighting for your life up front, showing straight fire as an opponent. if he tries to cover your mouth, bite him viciously with everything you’ve got.
if you can’t do any of the stuff in this video because you forget it in the moment or he instantly becomes violent and just punches you in the face to subdue you, you have to go straight wild, bucking, screaming in rage, kicking, hitting, biting, gouging, he can’t control all parts of you at once, make it seriously troublesome and problematic for him to continue. you won’t be a weak opponent. you’re in a fight.
in the interest of all that, exercise regularly, work out in the gym, walk long distances, etc. get yourself strong, agile, fit, so you can kick ass when you must. a guy raping you isn’t going to be motionless and passive like the guy demonstrating here. he’s going to use his hands fast and with force to knock your arms out when you try the first move in this series.
go the fuck off and fight for your life.
but the reality is, in an extraordinarily high percentage of rapes, it’s not going to be a stranger you encountered in the street or someone who broke into your house. it’s going to be a guy you loved, trusted, felt safe with most likely, your intimate partner or a friend. he probably won’t be explicitly physically violent, it’s psychological terrorism. you will have been psychologically groomed and manipulated over time before it ever gets there. so you’re shocked and confused, etc. you need to build your mind up like your body so you see a manipulative abuser from miles away before he can ever start in on you and reach the point of access where he can try to murder your soul.
