(2 of 2) For the past 20 years @BigMediumAustin has been putting together the #AustinStudioTour, which celebrates local artists. It all started small. First East Austin. Then West. Then the COVID 19 pandemic married East and West— or maybe it was before. And now we have a full three weeks of art studio tour. The kick-off started last Tuesday and it was very much well attended. It was if everyone from artists to art aficionado like myself came out to celebrate what we love most — creativity. @bigmediumaustin bi-annually hosts an Austin Studio Tour where art-lovers get to meet loca artists. This year was different in that following a pandemic, the organization a three-weekend event across the city of Austin. As you could expect, everyone came out to enjoy the artworks. And there are many arts to admire. In the past, I use to spend the day driving from one location to the next to the next and finish the day at a local bar. This time, there is so much to enjoy. Best advice for those first-timers is to visit Big Medium at @canopyaustin and pick up a map. You can also check out austinstudiotour.org, but I prefer a foldable map. 😀 Also, best to buy art. If you can’t afford the original, get a print.
