Bringing Bogan Back !
If you’re an Aussie who grew up in the 80’s and naughties you’d no doubt remember your friend that was a little left of centre. You all know what I’m talking about. Bogans! That one friend who thought that wearing a mullet hair cut was cool and never changed their flannelette shirt or skinny stonewash jeans and insisted on bringing a bottle of Fosters to every street party and BBQ.
These days, wearing ugg boots outside the house is a fashion statement and if one ‘milks it’ like Dave Hughes ‘Hughsey’ (Australian TV Personality) some might even say Bogans are back baby!. But let’s face it, there are degrees of Boganism.
We all love Nick Cummins the Honey Badger, and for those who can remember Paul Hogan’s (Crocodile Dundee) comedy series in the 70’s will understand that Bogans will always be part of Australia’s social fabric. And if ‘Trent from Punchy’ has anything to do with it, the limits of what it means to be an Aussie Bogan will continue to be pushed.
But there is one bunch of blokes doing for all the Bogans out there.
Comfy Bogan Sunglasses! “Now that’s Comfy”… www.comfybogan.com
Sunglasses inspired by Corey Worthington….you know??,, that young party goer from the naughties who holds the record for the number of random party people attending his Aussie street party. …. .. and what’s more,,, showed Authentic Aussie insurrection when he refused to take of his Sunglasses when it came time to apologise on National Television ensuring that Corey was destined to remain at least 8/10 or higher on the Bogan Barometer.
Comfy Bogan Sunglasses are clearly paying homage to Corey, Trent, Hughsey, not to mention the likes of Sam Newman, Paul Hogan and all those Bogan buddies that came before them…. Either that, or they are just all massive Collingwood supporters!!
You too can unleash your inner Bogan and carve out a bit of Australian pop culture:
