regional gothic: austrian edition #1 Bad Gastein
- Grand hotels from the 1800s, but the facades are crumbling, paint is peeling off, one burned completely out, windows sealed shut with woods
- You hear the waterfall roaring no matter where you are in this town
- Weird lights in the woods at night. Could be the carts taking care of the skiing routes, but who really knows?
- An elaborate underground system of thermal water pipelines to keep the streets icefree at any temperature... what else hides down there?
- Radon is in the water. It’s radioactive. Nobody seems to care.
- nobody knows who exactly bought all these hotels in the 60ies
- Empress Sisi liked it here and she was weird as hell, so go figure.
- there is more than one brothel in this strange little town and everybody seems to think that’s perfectly normal for a catholic place in catholic Austria...
- A Nazi Artist made up a goddess for Bad Gastein and created a statue. Again, nobody thinks that’s weird.
