"...the Austrian army ... carried most of the burden of the war on land. Though repeatedly defeated, it always rose again..."
Just some more Austrian Empire uniforms.

The Boxer Rebellion
The year was Nineteen-Hundred 'Tis worth remembering The men who lived through Fifty-five days at Peking
This is a cross-over episode, a unique partnership of a handful of nations that would fight a world war against each other in less than two decades. There is also a really nice Jazz remix of the 55 days at Peking song I really enjoyed.
The pictures somehow removed the descriptions of the soldiers, if any of you want to know the unit just ask and I can look them up in the source.

“Austrian Landwehr in 1809: the Uniform Plates of Joseph Eder”
The Landwehr were militia or reserve forces composed mainly of civilian conscripts, established by various German states during the Napoleonic Wars, especially Prussia and Austria. Created in response to Napoleon’s dominance and military reforms, the Landwehr were meant to bolster regular armies with a large pool of trained citizens. Though often less well-equipped and trained than professional soldiers, they played a crucial role in mass mobilization and national defense, especially during the later stages of the wars, such as the German campaign of 1813.

Napoleonic Austrian Cavalry Uniforms
Not much to say, always found it funny their heavy cavalry only had a half front plate because they figured they wouldn’t be hit from back there in a fight. Sure made reforming them simpler after all their loses in the early/mid war.
Combat for the Colors (1874)
Jean-Baptiste Édouard Detaille (French, 1848 - 1912)
The painter covered a lot of the Franco-Prussian war, I don’t think this painting is likely the case, but just a disclaimer.
Battle of Raszyn (1913)
Wojciech Kossak (Polish, 1857-1942)
The Battle of Raszyn, fought on April 19, 1809, near Warsaw, was a key engagement between the forces of the Duchy of Warsaw, led by Prince Józef Poniatowski, and the Austrian Empire under Archduke Ferdinand Karl. Although tactically indecisive, the battle was strategically significant: the Polish forces, outnumbered and facing a stronger Austrian army, managed to hold their ground and then executed a strategic withdrawal to defend Warsaw. This maneuver allowed Poniatowski to avoid a direct siege and later launch a successful counteroffensive into Austrian-controlled Galicia, boosting Polish morale and weakening Austrian control in the region.
