I had the pleasure to stop in to see my friends at Cafe Katja Saturday night and it was as glorious as always. With 2 kids and a busy life, I don’t get down to the Lower East Side as much as I used to but I remember going to Cafe Katja when it first opened. I instantly fell in love with the food, the people and the vibe. How quickly 13 years pass. They have since expanded but the place was tiny and cozy when it first opened. It’s still cozy although 3 times the size now. The food is still amazing. Pictured here is a glass of Fuchs Welshriesling with some Pickled Herring. This place always takes me back to my Austrian roots and I love every minute of it. Go say hi to Andrew Chase and Erwin Schnottner and don’t forget to try the traditional Austrian Schnapps! @erwincooks @cafekatja @lowereastnyc @lesnyc @lesnyc.lovers . . . . . . . . #cafekatja #lowereastside #lowereastsidenyc #austrianheritage #riesling #rieslinglover #pickledherring #austrianfood #austrianrestaurant #nycfood #nyc #nyc🗽#manhattan #nyclife #nyclifestyle #scenefromny #scenefromnyc #newyorker #newyorkcity #newyorkny #citywhereilive #touristinmycity #citywhereilivein #thecitywhereilive #newyorkcitylife #newyorkcitypics #localtouristnyc #nycmanofmanytalents #nycphoto #nycfoodlover (at Cafe Katja) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8sYnnRHGX1/?igshid=f7zkullsdmsh
