Where will I be?
The pain keeps piling up, hence the long silences. I’m losing my beloved SIL to cancer (the docs are giving her weeks to live, I hope they’re wrong and she lives for years) and we lost triplet baby goats after they had a really promising start. And one of our dogs is still missing, now going on five weeks with little hope of seeing him again. This makes me want to curl up in a ball and do my best to think of nothing.
But I’ve made a bunch of commitments and I will keep them. I’ll be at:
Rustycon http://www.rustycon.com/ in Seattle January 12-14
Radcon http://www.radcon.org/ in Pasco, WA February 16-18
Miscon http://www.miscon.org/ in Missoula May 25-28
and now Rose City Comicon https://rosecitycomiccon.com/ in Portland, OR September 7-9
If you live in /around Amarillo, I'm hanging w/some local authors + signing bks at @yellowcitycon this wkend, April 29th! Deets here.

An evening with Kamala Harris: What it was like to be inside Seattle's Benaroya Hall for a discussion of "107 Days"
This past Tuesday, as the clock ticked down to 8 PM and the conclusion of voting in the 2025 November general election, former Vice President Kamala Harris made her first public appearance in Seattle in a long time, drawing a sellout crowd to Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle for a discussion of her memoir 107 Days, which recaps the 2025 presidential election. Exploring Professor Powell's Legacy at the Bell Witch Fall Festival
I had a great time up in Adams, Tennessee on Sunday, September 22nd, speaking at the Bell Witch Fall Festival’s “Red River Tales” event. We had a very diverse group of speakers, performers, and musical acts, with each giving their all. This was my first appearance at the Bell Witch Fall Festival in its 22 years of existence; I felt very welcome, and I really enjoyed giving my presentation to such…
