“Light Autism”

I am glad they suppressed the “Asperger Syndrome” from the Autistic Spectrum Disorder. 

When you say you’re Asperger, people think that it’s a light autism. That you are just a bit excentric, that it doesn’t affect the way you live, or function. 

My days doesn’t feel like I have light autism.

I wish people would just come right out and tell me they need me to talk less. Rather than imply it, or word it in such a way that doesn't make it immediately clear they want me to shut up

Autism Problem: When you can't check your art by flipping it because change upsets you and the whole thing looks distressingly different.

Autistic people talking

Unlike what people could think, it is not always easier. It often goes like...

Person A : You know, in Fantastic Beast, I strongly disagree on what they did both with Credence and with Minerva because it cancels canon things J.K.Rowling made clear.

Person B : Okay. I like Eevee so much ! Do you realise the symbol ? He can be whatever he wants and he still will be valid. But imagine an awful trainer trying to force him to be a Jolteon when he wanna be a Leafon !

Person A : I don't know what Eevee is. Minerva isn't even born when they show her teachning !

Person B : It makes me think, would you want to go to Trainer school if you were in Pokemon ?

With both being frustrated because they are not interested in the other's Special Interest AND the other won't answer them about it.

On Special Interests

People: Oh, it's so great to be this interested in stuff like that. You are lucky, it's amazing to have a passion !

Me : It's not a passion. It's a Special Interest. It can bring you more joy than anything else, but it can make you suffer. It can be fascinating, but keep you from doing daily tasks. Special Interest are both awful and amazing, hurtful and soothing.

Heat

Hey autistic people ! 

So summer is here, and in France it seems it is going to be very hot. 

I work all July, mainly outside, and I am starting to get worried. 

As most autistic people, I have sensorial issues and heat is one. I tend to feel sick (which CAN’T happen in July, I am watching over kids), have panick attack because I’m sweating... 

Do you have any tips I could use ?

Autism thing

I now realise that implicit things aren’t always “talk subtext”, like when someone says something and you’re supposed to deduce what they mean even though they aren’t saying it exactly. 

Implicits are in what you’re supposed to do. And I’m not flexible enough. I was told ‘You’re doing this activity for an hour’. I didn’t think I could STOP for some minutes if it was needed. No one told me. 

Apparently, it’s called common sense. Well... I’ve been told many times by my mom that I don’t have any !
