I’m a proud autism mama. I’m probably not alone when I say that children on the autism spectrum push their parents to the limit. But make no mistake Jillian has taught me everything that I didn’t even know was capable about myself. In private autism parents get lauded with great admiration by family members, care providers and clinicians; yet, in public they get looks of concern and often disapproval. The world might need to give her a label to understand her better. But in my eyes she is God’s perfect creation. No matter much she gets on my nerves lol. Life can truly be a rollercoaster when you’re living and parenting on the spectrum. But I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a blessing to see how my daughter absorbs the world around her and how she responds in her most authentic form. You can read more about my life as a mom on the spectrum, specifically a black autism mom on my blog tooprissy.com #autismawarenessday #autismspeaksthetruth (at St. Clair Shores, Michigan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNLoWgmFrqg/?igshid=sjkocxw7ktbt
