Not to stereotype, but immediately when this new artist, Eric Zayne performed @Hotel Café in H'wood a few weeks ago after his trek from SXSW, he grabbed my attention when he identified as being from (drum roll), Congo. Visually, you'd be like, huh? Musically, you'd be like, how? But brother is from the motherland, deep in the Congo. Splattering his life all over his pop, soul, rock n' funk sensibilities throughout the night, the one song that stood out was "Stage Lights". And U can peep it on his free mixtape, AutobiograME! Trust me, U won't be disappointed no matter what mood - 80s throwback funk, rockability hippie, back-to-Africa vibe motherland, Prince-fan, pop simplicity or old soul sensuality, he'll fancy your fantasy!
