In today’s episode of “yeah I can totally draw?” - some fanart of the greatest fanfiction to grace the planet - @autoeuphoric‘s Some Of Us Are Looking At The Stars. I’ve wanted to doodle something from that fic for ages now, so I finally bit the bullet and came up with this; it’s from one of the later chapters, at a fancy-ass party.

I really wanted to do something more with this, but honestly I lost confidence in it about 70% of the way through; so it’s just flats and not shaded or anything fancy. Still, I wanted to post it and show my appreciation to auto. Even if it’s kinda crummy. <shrug>

I’m trash and don’t have any original stories, so have a bunch of fanfic lines. The first seven are from posted works, the last three are from works in progress.

It wasn't until he couldn't breathe in anything but searing saltwater that he learned to fear. 

The surface of the water broiled and broke, and he burst out from it to take in a deep but hasty breath.

There is no beauty in death. 

It started as a single flame amidst dry underbrush and desiccated branches, shy and unsure at the first lick of heat.

The first time Nagisa remembered his sisters putting nail polish on him, he was three and hated it.

The crowds were thick in the marketplace, making it easy for Nagisa to slip between people and rummage through coin purses and bags at will.

Akane was halfway through a sentence of her report when Nobuchika stood up from his desk and started to make his way to the door with his briefcase in tow.

The heavy metal door slammed shut behind Nagisa, and he reached his arms up tiredly to stretch them.

Rei pressed down on the crease of his opened notebook, making sure it would sit flat on the desk.

Haru was a bullet train and a three-hour bus ride away from home when he realized that his hormone suppressant pills were missing from his bag.

I’m pretty bad at analyzing my own works, so this is hard, but aside from #3, I guess all of my fics start out in the middle of some sort of action. Some of them are kinda are alarmist, to be honest. Lmao Or I guess it’d be better to say that they’re “full of impact”? #1 is especially startling, and so is #2.

I don’t really set up a space or time right away either. Instead, I just plop characters into some random setting and make readers have to read on to figure out what’s happening.

Aaand.... Is this good enough? I’m telling you, I’m really bad at analyzing my own works. ORZ

I’m not tagging anyone because I never usually do anyway, and I’m technically on hiatus from here, so. Yeah. Okay, bYE.

Another super good writer for the Free fandom; autoeuphoric in AO3 and in tumblr. For all your ReiGisa needs. My favourite has to be “Some of Us are looking at the stars” cause normally I am not a science fiction-dystopian kinda gal, but THIS is an amazing fic and nothing makes me as happy as finding out something I enjoy outside of my comfort zone. I started reading for sexbot Nagisa and I stayed for the plot hhnnhhgggg. Read it and check out other works as well, you won't be disappointed
