Importance of Lubricants in different industries
The use of lubricants in the industrial sectors has always stayed high. Be it any industry, petrochemicals or automotive; without the proper supply of lubricants, it is impossible to run a smooth operation.
If the question arises which industrial areas use lubricants, the answer to that will not be much tough. The industries where machinery movement goes on for industry operations, require lubricants. However, the type of lubrication system to be used always differs.
How Does Lubricant is Prepared?
In general, there are two main compounds used in lubricant preparation. One is an organic compound, and the other one is a synthetic compound. For the preparation of organic lubricants, petroleum substances are used. But, for the synthetic automatic lubrication system, mostly, chemical compounds are being used. Some adhesives are included in the chemicals for ensuring that the lubricants perform as expected.
What are the Different Types of Industrial Lubricants?
The lubricants are generally found in 3 different physical states, just like water. There is a liquid lubricant, semi-liquid and solid. Graphite, the solid lubricant is dusted to be used on the machinery surface.
Grease and Vaseline are the two most commonly used semi-liquid lubricant. And lastly, turbine oils, marine oils, and gear oils are some of the examples of liquid lubricant. Also, silicone, metal fluids, cutting fluids, farming fluid, hydraulic oil, gas engine oils, brake oils are some of the examples of most extensively used automatic lubricator GCC in different industrial zones.
The principal use of lubricants is in reducing the friction among the moving components in machinery. Excessive and continuous friction among two metal components does not only cause wear, but it generates a significant amount of static heat as well.
The lubricants help in reducing the frictional heat. The lubricants, especially the automatic lubricator gcc is heat resistant, and that's why these are often termed as ‘heat transfer fluids'.
Apart from these two primary usages, the use of lubricants also adds a protective layer on the machinery that omits rust and corrosion effectively. Although lubricants are used in a wide range of industries, the automotive industry is undoubtedly the one that makes the most use of industrial lubricants.
What is Automatic Lubrication System?
The automatic lubrication system is being installed in all types of machines that do not need manual power. It can control the amount of lubricants to be used in different machinery. There are two types of system. One is the oil system that is used majorly in manufacturing equipment and on the other hand, the grease system is used in trucks, construction, and mining operations.
The traditional method of manual lubrication has deemed off now. Because of the ease of its use, the automatic lubrication system is rising in popularity. The energy consumption of industrial machinery has been drastically reduced, no downtime due to machinery breakdown and of course safe operation for long hours - these are the reasons why industrial lubricants have gained this much of popularity over the time.
