Holy crap you guys, I was seriously blown away by the response to the last chapter. I know I picked up a few new readers because there was apparently a rec post on Tumblr, so hello to new people!

Awkward time for me to mention that I'm taking a brief hiatus because my fiance and I have been working on a different fic and I want to focus on that for a second. Hey all, sorry I was gone for a whole month. My laptop refused to charge, and after three new chargers and two trips to the repair place, I reluctantly came to the conclusion that it was dead as a doornail, and had to get a new one. Combined with a birthday, a really bad cold, and my fiance and I getting distracted with a new AU, writing just kind of stopped for a few weeks there.

Welcome to my Nano project for 2025! A lot of this is already written, and I was planning on finishing it before posting, but the world is on fire and I figure why not share this early?

A lot of inspiration for this fic goes to some very fun drone fics I've read since entering the fandom, like Coin Operated by CerysKitty and @batgirlonawafflerampage‘s drone Jazz fic over on her dreamwidth. Usual shoutouts for Decepticon Jazz content to Mistakes on Mistakes Until— by jabberish and Ninth by Kyn. Throw in some Murderbot Diaries and Ella Enchanted, way too much world building, and pulse in a blender for seven months, and we get this.

I have a mental list at all times of art I'd want to commission one day and for my fics it's usually the normal big dramatic scenes...

and then for AB it's those of course but I also would absolutely commission a background event for the big fight scene which is Eject kicking the Matrix like a soccer ball.
