In Ungulata, there are three ponies responsible for the color that covers the world. They have been trained since they were yearlings to learn the complicated magic of creating rainbows.

These ponies are called The Rainbow Committee. 

Cheerilee controls the color red, Brights Brightly controls the color blue, and Whistle Wishes controls the color yellow. 

The three must one day take on apprentices to teach the magic of color. Whistle Wishes apprentice is Brights Brightly’s son, Bright Night. Brights Brightly’s apprentice is Whistle Wishes daughter, Wind Wisher.

Cheerilee’s apprentice is Princess Rarity... who is a little more trouble than she’s worth.

Starjumpers were rather unknown until recent history. A few slipped into Equinby before their official incorporation, but the glitter the starjumpers possess is tied to their island, and to eachother, so no mainland starjumper sparkled enough to be picked from a crowd. Some foals born of starjumpers weren't even aware of their species until Skywishes incorporated them into Equinby.

Round N. Round: It’s beautiful, isn’t it, Fun? Now all pony species can live together harmoniously.

Doseydotes: Dad, dad!

Round: Yes, Dosey?

Dosey: Y-your wings!

Round: What about my -- wings?

Bunches O. Fun: Why, Round, your wings look just like the starjumpers!

Round: H-how?? I’ve hardly met a starjumper!

Twirlerina: (gasp)

Fun: Say not so, Round.

Queen Spritely is an Alicorn - by Sweetie Belle

Spritely Dreams was born an alicorn, a pony with wings and a horn. As a yearling, she was tricked by lions... she escaped with her life, but not her horn. 

As an adult, she preferred to hide the stump of her horn, broken below the bone and never able to regrow, behind her hair.

Of course, when her daughter Queen Crystal was born a unicorn, something was suspected by her subjects. But Spritely loved her family and kingdom nevertheless.

Equinby follows a zodiac more akin to the Chinese Zodiac than the Greek Zodiac. There are eight signs that loop around every year. The signs are as follows: Bellasara, Moonfairy, Sunflower, Pantheon, Valeryk, Starlight, Shahazar and Islandar, after the great herds of North’o’North.

Butter pop!

Butterpop is a Basuto mare who is 13h (horseshoes, that is) tall. Her girlfriend is Pretty Pop, and her cousins are Fizzypop and Swirlypop. She and Pretty Pop are the mothers of Butter Drop. She’s in Magic House Moon.

Butterpop is the manager of the Popcorn Movie Theatre in Ponyville. She is friendly and fearless, though terribly headstrong and stubborn. Her mother used to joke that she could become a lawyer with how strongly she argued for her side of things.

Butterpop usually sticks to making foods for the theatre while Pretty Pop and some other employees man the front desk. The scent of buttery popcorn is deep in her coat and even a many hour-long wash from Daffidazey can’t get it fully out.

She was born in September and her favorite color is Popcorn Yellow. Her favorite flower is a buttercup. Her favorite weather is clear skies and her favorite season is summer. 

Butterpop’s main friends are her cousins and girlfriend, though she’s relitively friendly with Triple Treat and Sweetberry because their daughters are friendly. Butterpop is also relatively close friends with Lickity Split, the owner of an ice cream parlor a block or two down.
