TODAY!! An all new batch of one-of-a-kind altar cloths goes live in the shop as well as two new prints! It all goes down at 8pm EDT so be sure to set an alarm to get the best selection. 🦇 I found some really unique antique linens this time around that have made for gorgeous Autumn-inspired altar cloths. As always, each antique cloth is hand dyed and screen printed, transforming it from a forgotten remnant into a sacred piece of art that can be used as an altar cloth, tarot cloth, or hung on the wall like a tapestry! This update will consist mostly of medium and large altar cloths and only a few small ones. 🦇 TWO new bat prints will also debut in the shop this time around. For the last two years I’ve been setting aside antique linens that seem to evoke the feelings of the harvest season with the hopes of one day putting together the ultimate Autumn altar cloth collection. Well, that time is finally here! I am so excited to reveal these special creations, featuring beautiful embroidery motifs of wheat, leaves, and flowers in an array of autumn colors. This collection was designed specifically to evoke the warmth of harvest season— the smell of fallen leaves, the crisp cool air, the spiced holiday feasts, and the last blush of Fall color that blankets the land before the trees become skeletal. A fun fact— the Demeter drawing was created with these particular cloths in mind! I've never really celebrated equinoxes or solstices, always preferring to celebrate the meteorological fall instead of astronomical, like the Norse did. But something about this year is different. I've done a lot recently. I drove six hours to a family reunion and slept on the ground in the woods for five days. I saw Wardruna and experienced a whole experience there (there's no other way to explain it other than maybe transcendent yet grounding). I discovered the Wee Free Men and have only one book before I'm done. For someone who lives in the woods, that's a lot. So it makes sense to celebrate a day of balance and the shift in the seasons. It feels like a shift in the seasons in me. Now to go forward leaning into the change and keeping myself brave in the face of it. * * The bottle is damiana, an herb that is said to be an aphrodesiac and spicy. Fall feels spicy to me. The cup holds pine resin, which is great for the wood stove because it burns really nicely. It sits on a golden agate slice. The tin is some heavy scented balm for burns that reminds me of bonfires. The drink is Woodford Reserve bourbon.
