why do you think the new episode was called the foundry?
Good morning, dear!
That is a really good question and one I have been pondering too. I am afraid I am bit stumped on this one as the meaning - when I googled up the german translation - didn’t spark any immediate ideas on how it relates to the episode as the main events didn’t take place in any kind of factory, so I assume this may be a nod to something I simply don’t know, some trivia, pop culture bit or something.
The only thing that I could with stretching it see as something possibly fitting to what happens in a foundry commonly is how Hugo bound the kids’ spirits to his own and got powered by them. So you could say these spirits “melted” together. In a similar fashion you could take it as a nod to to Mary and how she became bound to their house and when dying “became one” with the house. And it may also be understood as how Mary and her sons metaphorically need to find a way to become a unit again.
Those are all really crappy ideas though, sadly. I’m really sorry for not being able to give a better answer. Interestingly enough in contrast to how the episode itself was the least subtle one in a long time, the title itself a least to me is difficult to find a direct relation to the events of the episode.
