Imagine/Idea:
Cakeverse fork!Mortimer with a fated cake!human-
He's been forced to go through life without taste or smell, being used and abused by damn near everyone in his life until he meets his cake. Now he has to go through a healing period and learn to accept 1 that he is loved by his cake, and no they do not just feel forced to be with him by their fated bond and 2 that his cake doesn't hate or resent his mutation and 3 that he can in fact rely on his cake to give him a full and flavorful life
