Has there been any instance in recent memory of a player going under two different usernames at the same time to circumvent auxiliary slot requirements? :0 As discussed on board recently, obtaining additional slots is a /lot/ easier now than it was in the past, so it makes me wonder if anyone ever tried to pull a fast one on staff.

Not in recent memory, no. It's happened a few times in the past, though the ruse never lasts long and it's never worth it! Ultimately, it's a lot easier to just wait out 30 days and the requisite number of posts than it is to keep up a charade indefinitely. Constantly having to lie to everyone -- staff, sure, but also your RP partners -- is a lot of work! Also, with OOC accounts now, that's a minimum of four accounts to manage just to play two characters? Or six if you wanted to do three? And multiple Discord accounts?? ...Just make the posts, man. :V

If you drop more than one character at a time, do you still have those slots that you can fill or are they null and void for each consecutive character that you drop? (i.e Say I had 7 characters/slots, hypothetically, and I dropped 4 of them, would I still have those slots later on when I want to pick up more characters?)

As long as you are dropping them via the Drop List (i.e., they weren’t removed in an activity sweep), then you would still have those slots, yes! :)

I've noticed that the requirement for "ratios between characters" ends up creating perverse incentives /not/ to post, is there a minimum post cost that once achieved on each character, that the ratio thing can be ignored? It's almost inevitable that you're going to have a character that sometimes just lacks a lot of extensive plot stuff going on, but have characters that could easily hit 20+ in a bracket. Current incentive is to throttle character posts to prevent rejection for imbalance.

Ratios between character counts usually aren’t a very important factor in requests, especially if all characters have post counts that are good or better. Unless the difference is extreme (such as 5 posts on your primary character and 50 on an auxiliary), ratios really aren’t as big a deal as consistency and the number of posts themselves.For example, if your counts are something like 10/10/20/15 for your four characters, you’re fine. All of those numbers are above “average,” and if all your brackets are like this, then you’re consistently above average – it’s not that big a deal that Character 3 has twice as many posts as Character 1.On the other hand, if your counts are like 3/5/30/20, then we’d have questions about why you can do so well with Characters 3 and 4 while Characters 1 and 2 are in the “dismal” range – in other words, you’re inconsistent. This is also true if for one bracket you’re 10/10/20/15 but for another bracket you’re 3/5/30/20.But if your counts are all good, then ratios don’t matter that much. :3

Does a slot have to be filled as soon as it is requested?

Nope!  It can be filled whenever you want (or even not at all).

It seems lately there's been a lot of discrimination and out right shaming of members for having high auxiliary characters – what they should do with them, if they should have more than one in a pack and if it makes them eligible to adopt other characters and so on. Is there anything you/a player can do to stop this?

Adoptable characters fall entirely at the discretion of their creators. If a player chooses not to adopt these out to someone with multiple characters, this is up to them. Likewise, players with multiple characters may choose to spread them out between packs or not at all, though some pack leaders might choose to limit how many characters a player can have in their pack. We suggest players who might be facing this address such comments as best as they can – discussion is often the best way to get to the root of the problem! That being said, the Conduct and Courtesy standards of ‘Souls still apply. If someone is harassing another player for any reason, please inform the 'SA directly.

Does a slot always get removed if a character is removed in the activity sweep? If I have 3 slots, but only two characters active, does the removal of a character mean a removal of that third, empty slot since it wasn't currently filled?

Yes.  In this instance, if a player (with 3 slots and 2 active characters) is removed for inactivity with Wolf, then they will lose the third, empty slot as well as the slot previously occupied by Wolf.

We received two similar questions about the waiting period for filling previously earned slots:

Say we have 2 slots empty, already play Dog and Dingo, and pick up Wolf. What is the wait time to pick up Coyote for the last slot after picking up Wolf? I can't find this info anywhere!

I know you have to wait two weeks to pick up a character after a drop but say you drop multiple characters to free up multiple slots, how long do you have to wait to fill up each available slot. Can you pick up the same number as was dropped after two weeks or do you have an extended wait period in between pick ups?

The minimum waiting period between picking up characters is two weeks. If you drop a character and have two empty slots, you must wait two weeks before picking up a new character to fill a slot. You must wait another two weeks before filling the other slot. You cannot, for example, drop three characters, wait two weeks, and join with all three new characters at the same time; there must be a two week waiting period between each character if you already earned the slots.

We realize that this information was not made clear in the procedures and are rectifying this!

Hey SA, I was looking at past tumblr asks to find the answer, but since it's constantly changing, I figured I'd ask again (hope that's ok!). What is the current highest number of played characters by one player?

The most characters played at one time by on player is twelve, a record set by Owl. :)
