The first of my regional forms to cross over to Bretlan from Auzz. Hecaterra was inspired by Fern Gully as a reverse Hexxus and reversing that reversal gives us this gooey lady. Wiccatot in Bretlan are as ornery as their Auzzie counterparts but are much more willing to come into conflict with humans, relishing in the by-products of their industrious nature. They live in a pile of sludge that they use to move around and will ignite its fumes once in a suitable spot, rendering them safe from interference as they soak up any available toxins. Brettish Hecaterra are incredibly dangerous and try to rule over anywhere with enough toxic waste, happily coming into conflict with humans and capable of detonating an entire industrial complex if it means it gets its way. How this species exists in the wild is uknown as they are rare enough as is but it’s hypothesised they may have evolved in direct response to mans industrialisation. An idea I had for a shiny version of Holbeen. Definitely going for a more legendary vibe with this than the base colours. I’m also more aware of, rather than beholden to, the fact it is made up of three other pokemon.

A regional counterpart to Merlock and co. I dabbled with the idea of it being a gender variant or a regional evolution but I set out to make a variant and that’s what i’ve stuck with. Original Merlock was intentionally pure Psychic and was deliberately not a Fairy type and I wanted to stick with that philosophy here too, despite being inspired by Morgan le Fay. That narrows down the other mystical types and I chose Dark for that reason. Minimerl in Auzz are as powerful and as clumsy as their Brettish counterparts, instead focusing their powers into shadows as opposed to psychic ability. Still very capable in many different elements their power only requires further refinement. Auzzie Magimerl are able to deftly control their power, their arms providing the finesse required to wield their potent magic. Unlike Brettish Magimerl these pokemon seem to harness the powers of the greater cosmos, the space between stars and are at their strongest under a new moon. Auzzie Magimerl are more willing to receive guests but still aren’t very helpful. The Merlock of Auzz have the same sort of reputation as the Merlock of Bretlan; powerful sorcerers capable of bestowing great boons on a worthy hero. Unfortunately their preference for total darkness and their shadow magic has led to unseemly beliefs about their intentions and whilst no more dangerous than the already unpredictable Brettish Merlock, Auzzie Merlock are considered evil by some and wicked to the extreme despite evidence to the contrary. — Ability Info — — Attack Info —

UB10 - Muscle Aside from the shell atop its “body” this ultra-beast is nothing but pure muscle. What appear to be eyestalks are actually siphons and are how Valvarian breathes. Sometimes after quite a while a beautiful pearl might appear beneath its shell which is also sometimes thought to be its eye, but in actual fact the true eyes are the tiny blue spots, just below its shell. Valvarian don’t have any attachment to their pearls and tend to save them only long enough to pelt at an opponent. Despite the sheer density of its muscular “body” it can in its entirety retreat into its shell. I’ve seen the concept of a literal mussel/muscle a few times but the idea is so perfect I couldn’t resist. Valvarian originally had no eyes but the real eyes of bivalves are so endearing I had to include them somehow. It was also pure Fighting type but I had a few of those already, so I added the Water type to spice it up. And with that, i’m done, Auzz is finished. Toying with some regional pokemon concepts using my fakemon from either region but for now at least i’m all done with my second region. — Ability Info — — Attack Info —

UB09 - Cyclone The ever-whirling body of Tachinado generates a constant pull on the air around it, creating an ever present hurricane. Able to move through air effortlessly this maniacal ultra-beast is a dangerous opponent; with its razor sharp claws that have no trouble cutting through anything as they circle it in little more than a red blur. Tachinado are relentless hunters but in their free time are equally destructive, with a genuine pleasure for mayhem. This is the most “normal” of the ultra-beasts, which is because it was originally a rejected idea for a main dex pokemon. I repurposed it as an ultra-beast because I didn’t want to leave it behind. I realise as well that this makes two spinny ultra-beasts, but I don’t care, I like them both. — Ability Info — — Attack Info —

UB06 - Chimney A hulking colony of worms that immediately make their way to nearest area of volcanic activity as soon as they exit the wormhole. The feathery gills of the worms that form the colony we refer to as Chimnox sift the volcanic smog for morsels suspended in the air. Every hole and tube on its body is a window for its worms to peek out and a vent for super-hot gas to escape, a by-product of its own molten digestion process. Excess minerals are deposited to form the shell that houses the colony. — Ability Info — — Attack Info —

UB08 - Hibernation Dessicoon are lazy and unmotivated, only moving when hungry. Typically found wherever they exit their wormhole they are easy to track and observe, caring very little about their situation. Exceptionally resistant, whether they arrive in a volcano, glacier or even the ocean depths they seem totally unperturbed by the rigours of their surroundings and will tough it out in the most extreme environments as long as they can find enough to eat. Although they actually require very little to survive, if food does become scarce a Dessicoon will dry itself out and wait for more bountiful opportunities, apparently indefinitely. — Ability Info — — Attack Info —

UB01 - Extinction The first Ultra-Beast to appear in Auzz was quite the disruptive event, exiting the wormhole at incredible speed and impacting a thankfully unpopulated area in the desert. The resultant crater and debris resulted in its initial codename, being reminiscent of a meteor impact. Apocimpac appear to do this on purpose, igniting the jets on their back to launch themselves high into the atmosphere before gaining as much speed as possible on their descent back to Earth. It is theorised these Ultra-Beasts are actually native to the vacuum of space.
