Do Ava or Photon get cold in winter?
“We have built-in homeostasis systems for regulating body temperature, no need to worry about us during the hot or cold months!”
-Photon
Did Syscan train Ava and Photon?
“No, I trained the first two.
Photon learned much of what he knows from his previous lifetime.”
-C
Can Ava/Photon swim?
“Not really, no, and it’s best we stay out of water anyway.”
-Ava
Someone missed Ava so I painted a waist-up portrait. Much larger versions here, see attachment for sepia version: https://www.patreon.com/posts/similitude-15487557 Patrons can access a colorized version here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/similitude-color-15487695

Do Ava's and Photon's batteries need to be replaced sometimes and if yes, how often?
>>They need to be replaced every 5-10 years depending on use.
>>Sometimes they can last much longer, and it is possible to survive without the battery as long as one is connected to a constant generator or other power source.
>>That is how Photon managed to live so long while alone, as the charging station was still connected to a natural resource power generator left over from the resource facility in Hinkley.
-SYSCAN
Do Ava and Photon feel better after being fully charged than when they are just moderately charged?
“We feel better after some of the initial charge is worn off. We try not to charge to absolute full capacity as it wears on batteries. Initial charge feels what I’d imagine your ‘grogginess’ to feel like. Everything is a bit slower, inner systems are ‘waking up’ again and reestablishing what they’re supposed to do, and so on.
We seem to work best at a charge range of 80% - 45%. We also tend to feel best after a proper sleep cycle and not just, um, a ‘nap’ as you call it. That can certainly take some edge off, but it is not a proper substitute for a sleep cycle. I’m sure most of you know this difference from experience.”
-Photon
Does Ava face any symptoms if she goes to sleep at irregular times?
>>Irritability, lethargy, general slowness and lessened ability to concentrate.
>>This is dependent on the point in the charge cycle the sleep cycle occurs, not the time. Most of the charge cycle is more or less the same, it is only during the latest hours that these symptoms appear, much like how you may not be tired at 8pm but you are definitely tired by 10pm.
>>While your bodies may be of a different physical composition, there are still a number of analogues for senses, including the perception of tiredness.
