So I thought, y’know, us lovely Arthur writers could team up and put our thoughts together for this. Does that sound ok? 

Please feel free to add to the list and reblog whenever you feel like it. Note: Arthur RPers only please. Thoughts for both or either of the twins are accepted! This is *our* AU and I’m opening up the sandpit for your input :)

“...they always got along really well, barely spent time apart when they were much younger until Uther changed that and made Artorius do more ruling type of studies while Arthur had to go participate in basics. But he might’ve snuck out of them often to go into the kitchens or train with the knights instead.”

“...While both twins know the law of the land, Arthur is more inclined to disagree and do what he feels is right, whereas Artorius will often follow his father’s lead. He admires Arthur for his strong moral convictions to be able to disagree with the king. But this doesn't mean that Artorius is unable or unwilling to be the sort of ruler Uther is grooming him to be. He has an interest in maintaining order and justice which maybe is a bit more black and white than Arthur's. He’s less merciful too, which will have consequences later on.”

Tending to the fire, most of the other druids had gone to sleep in their makeshift shelters and left the young man alone. He was LUCKY to have been found. Dragged from the battlegrounds, barely even alive. The wound was still healing, a constant mark upon his skin that he had committed regicide. The MURDER of a king. Considering he hadn’t heard news otherwise, it was all Mordred could assume. Whether the druids were even aware of his crime or thought him another soldier in the battle, he wasn’t sure. He didn’t talk about it, barely even spoke to them. They weren’t the same group he had been raised with, mere STRANGERS to him. But strangers that had saved his life and given him a place to stay and heal. Not that he had any intention of staying with them for too long. It would only put them in greater DANGER.

And apparently that danger had come for them.

He heard the footsteps. He had been listening out for them since childhood, an INSTINCT built into him even still. Setting down the stick he had used to poke at the fire, Mordred’s freed hand went to the blade that sat beside him. Still, he made no movement to get up, didn’t turn in the direction. Perhaps it was passerbys who would wander away and certainly no need to reveal the face of a TRAITOR to them. Hidden beneath the cowl, waiting with baited breath but they still marched closer and, with the growing sound, his grip on the sword tightened until knuckles were white. Perhaps he was in no shape to FIGHT but that didn’t mean he couldn’t try.

❝   They’re just druids. PEACEFUL ones. They have no magic amongst them.   ❞   Finally, he spoke up and it was true. He had only been healed with the most caring hands and herbs. No magic, though they still believed in the OLD ways. A sin in and of itself apparently. Still, he made no movement to reveal his face. It was daring enough just to even speak.   ❝   Just travelers trying to find a home. Your war on magic has no place here.   ❞

It truly was amazing what magic could CREATE and yet some, like this other witch, would use BEAUTY to lure in unsuspecting victims. It only served to tarnish their reputation further, leaving others to believe that all witches were only WICKED. The creation of such beautiful flowers could be used for good, for healing and instead used against those that were innocent. A witch herself, Liliana could see no reason behind it. Even when their own necks were at risk of the nearest axe or sword, it hardly meant that they had to RETALIATE in the same manner. Not that Liliana had made much of an effort to change the mind of people, instead still living in her father’s shadow———

❝   I may be a Lady, but I’ll have you know that I have no intention of becoming a DAMSEL. I am actually capable of protecting myself.   ❞   At least, when others weren’t around to cry witchcraft. It wasn’t as if she had exactly been trained how to fight like knights or princes. Still, her gaze would drop every so often to the plants, right until she felt that cloud start to take form in the back of her mind, until she could FEEL the magic’s effects and would then avert her gaze once more.   ❝   But just imagine the benefits of things like this. In the RIGHT hands, of course. They could be used to put a person out of it after a battle if they needed some extreme form of surgery. No pain, no fuss, not until the effects were BANISHED, of course.   ❞

And yet that’s not what these were used for. Liliana briefly wondered if more magic might disrupt the spell going on here. A fire set only to blaze away the petals that shone so brilliantly rather than a chaotic wild fire that would consume most anything. But a glance back at the prince only told her now wasn’t the time given someone else was so nearby.

I shouldn't be surprised because you slay at every character you take on, but Mordred is written so perfectly and beautifully and you have such a deep understanding of his character & the pain he endured to influence the decisions he made. In other words? Perfect portrayal & much love from me.
