A.V.A Reflection
This was the assignment I had the most fun with. Funny right? who would have ever thought I would consider a writing assignment fun? Not me. To be honest who would ever find homework or a project to be fun or fulfilling? Well, after getting feedback and seeing that this project came out just how I imagined made it all worth the work. I usually do not like working in partners but this changed my perspective and like I said before our assignments would feed off the last so it is probably why I found this project to be the easiest of the whole semester. Before this assignment I did not know what it was called but I did realize that advocacy is everywhere, such as commercials, advertisements, youtube videos, and so on. Since this was the most recent assignment I do know that I accomplished the full purpose of this assignment along with my partner. I do have to take another communications class and I will put what I have learned with this assignment into that class. In the website I created I did practice the use of literary devices, since my topic was Cyberbullying it was fairly easy to add in emotion, and along with it logos and pathos came into play easily as well. The process I took to complete this assignment made it flow and come together perfectly. Aside from one area in the Op-Ed I know that I did meet all criteria in this assignment.
The only way I could have altered my writing to make it better would have been to edit the Op-Ed and add in citations. By doing so the assignment would have been a Hundred. Since this assignment was done by using my partners Lit Review it helped so much. All the things we used to contribute to our website came from the references in his Lit Review. All the information we needed came from that and therefore also came from the chapters in the book. The other chapters of Framing Arguments and Construction Arguments also helped in the process. I learned that an argument is always made to win. You do not have to win or lose sometimes it is just about stating something to make a point. In this case we were making the point that more people need to talk about how serious cyberbullying can become and how teens may turn to suicidal thoughts or actions if they are not told that they have a support group behind them. Sometimes just advocating for a specific purpose helps many others in those situations.
