Kamui stirred slightly and blinked her eyes open. She found herself staring at Cyrus' chin and bare chest, and a fond smile dotted her lips. She looked up at Cyrus' sleeping face so close to hers, and her smile grew when she realized his arms were still wrapped around her.
His embrace was so warm. So protective.
She placed her hand against his chest, reveling in the warmth of his skin, as she placed her palm over his heart. She smiled as she felt the steady thrum of his heart beneath her hand before she slid her hand up his neck to his cheek. She traced her finger along his jawline, over his cheekbone, before lightly tracing her finger against his lips.
She hadn't even realized she had woken Cyrus up until he kissed her finger when it reached the center of his lips. His eyes fluttered open and Kamui felt her heart flutter as well.
Cyrus smiled at her sleepily. "Good morning, my dear." He whispered, his voice still heavy with sleep.
An affectionate smile graced Kamui's lips. "Good morning." She said, tracing her finger along his lip again. Her smile grew when Cyrus kissed her finger again.
"Um," Cyrus paused, and Kamui noticed that his cheeks were tinted pink. "How... How are you feeling?" He asked, looking a bit embarrassed.
Kamui eyed him curiously before realization hit her. She smiled and wrapped her arms around Cyrus' shoulders. "I'm just fine. I'm perfect, actually." She told him as she lazily traced shapes against Cyrus' back. He sighed, looking visibly relieved.
"Good, I was scared I hurt you last night." He murmured, still looking embarrassed. Kamui shook her head, smiling affectionately. She leaned closer to him, nudging her nose against his. She caught a glimpse of his growing smile before her eyes fluttered close. Cyrus chuckled breathily as he hugged her against his chest.
"What's so funny?" Kamui inquired, feeling content in Cyrus' arms.
She felt him shake his head ever so slightly. "Nothing... Just... I can't believe we're married. It's almost like a dream." He chuckled.
Kamui smiled, her teeth showing. "Yeah, we are married." Kamui opened her eyes to see Cyrus gazing at her adoringly. She flushed under his gaze and tilted her head up to kiss him tenderly. She sighed in content as Cyrus hugged her closer. She parted her lips from his, only to return moments later to pepper small, fleeting kisses to his lips. She felt Cyrus smile in between their kisses, his hands splaying flat against her bare back. She sighed against his lips, content to just stay in his arms forever.
As she leaned in for another fleeting kiss, a knock sounded at the door. Kamui only paused slightly before continuing with her kisses. "Who is it?" She asked in between kisses. Cyrus shifted onto his back and Kamui followed him, resting on top of him. Cyrus chuckled quietly against her lips and Kamui smiled into the kiss.
"It's Felicia, Lady Kamui. I just came to deliver a message." Felicia said from outside the door.
Kamui parted from Cyrus long enough to smile at him and stroke his cheek with her thumb. "What is it?" She asked, loud enough for Felicia to hear her from the other side of the door. She giggled softly when Cyrus reached up to cup her cheek, his thumb stroking her cheek as well. She met Cyrus' gaze, flushing at the look of adoration in his eyes.
He mouthed something to her and Kamui tilted her head to the side. He chuckled quietly and his cheeks flushed pink. He mouthed it again, but Kamui was only more confused, unable to successfully read his lips.
"Lord Ryouma has summoned you. He asks that you come at your earliest convenience." Felicia said from the door.
Kamui turned her attention to the door. "Oh, thank you. Tell him I'm getting ready now and I'll be there as soon as I'm done getting ready." Kamui said before she turned back to Cyrus. She barely registered Felicia giving her an affirmative response from the other side of the door.
After another moment, Kamui pouted at Cyrus. "What did you say before? I didn't understand it." She muttered. Cyrus chuckled and Kamui smiled at him adoringly and rested her forehead against his. She stroked his shoulders with her thumbs, and Cyrus did the same with his hands on her back.
"I said I love you." He mumbled, looking up at Kamui.
She paused and felt her cheeks warm, her stomach do flips, and her heart skip a beat. When she didn't immediately respond, Cyrus gazed at her curiously. Kamui laughed softly and reached up to cup Cyrus' cheek once again. "I love you too." She giggled.
Cyrus' cheeks colored as well and a genuine smile dotted his lips. "I love you more."
Kamui smiled, her heart fluttering in her chest. "Nothing will make me as happy as you do." She murmured, pulling back to look at Cyrus' face. She laughed at his embarrassed expression before she leaned down to kiss him once again.
