its literally 2 in the morning but anyway Mel is almost like if Azula was treated like Zuko from a very young age and had spent more time with Ursa or something. Oh no. Now I'm thinking of AUs.
OMGOSH avatar mel au where ambessa hates benders (this universe's version of mages) or something and mel ends up not only being a bender but the AVATAR!!! and she HATES WAR?! BANISHMENT!!! BANISHMENT FOR 1000 YEARS!!! So anyway she goes to Ba Sing Se (i.e. Piltover n Zaun) and builds a life for herself in the upper ring (topside). Theres probably not gonna be a global war in this AU and benders are A LOT rarer than in A:TLA.
Anyway, she comes across Jayce, who is experimenting with magical stones associated with each element (kinda like the primal stones in tdp) and I think the hextech plotline would end up being more or less the same as the show except different hextech devices would use different elemental stones (for example the hexgates would use air stones, mining tools like the gauntlets and the hammer would use a mixture of earth and fire stones, etc.)
Most of the plot points from s1 would probably be more or less the same tbh. Maybe the hexcore could be a mixture of all the types of elemental stones together? Idk.
Later on Viktor gets possessed by a spirit or something (maybe a twisted version of Raava, who would be the spirit of order instead of straight up good) after Jayce tried healing him with the hexcore when he got hurt during jinx's attack the council. He starts brainwashing people blah blah blah and now this has become a serious issue that requires the bridge between the 2 worlds to intervene (also I think it would be cool juxtaposition with Mel having to bring true order/balance to the world and Viktor bringing it about artificially by wiping everyone's free will).
Also this Noxian secret organisation knows she's the avatar and wants to hunt her down for some reason so she has to deal with that as well as the topside/undercity issue and the spirit-possessed threat to the world.

She would absolutely kill it! And the primal stones sound like the ones from The Dragon Prince (which I headcanon came first and ATLA world is the post apocalypse remains)
