But oh yeah he definitely knows it's Bun Ma (probably isn't aware she's teamed up with Ju Long tho). I think Bumi mentioned that Iroh's written a few times warning Hydrangea team to be careful, but they shot him down haha. He's not surprised by the content of her writings but he's wary of her call to action. Especially since he knows she wants to do it in zukos name.

Since he's under the impression Bun Ma is working by herself (with addition of Ju Long but still essentially by themselves) he expects all of their letters to be theoretical since they need people to implement them and the White Lotus certainly isnt helping them.

Thats a good question hmm After Zuko's hijinks with the spirit library (and continued connection with the knowledge seekers who are connected to wan shi tong) and how the swamp basically kidnapped zuko during their stay, Iroh has come to terms with the reality that zuko has a strong connection to the spirit world. I think Iroh mostly thinks of Baijiu as Zuko's strange pet and is just thankful a minor spirit decided to stick to him. On some level I think Iroh is hopeful that if Zuko and the Sazanami have been claimed by Baijiu, there's less chance of other spirits paying attention to them.

I can’t find your WIP Wednesday post so I have no idea what’s in it, but there must be one because other people are asking, so I’m going to take a wild guess and ask for Kon wants scented. If that’s not on the list please feel free to sub in something that is!

And Superboy doesn’t–he’s not–he’s not a pup, so he doesn’t act like one. Doesn’t go looking for the kind of attention a pup would get, or any attention he hasn’t earned. Like–if he saves somebody or flirts somebody up or makes somebody feel good . . . that’s stuff he earned. Not–not something he just–just gets greedy about.

I’ve just read ‘my baby, you are a gift, one i will cherish’ again all the way through (it’s lovely), and I’m amused by the notes saying ‘oh I’ve just got a tumblr account, I won’t use it much though, hardly at all.’

ahaha. yea my ability to predict that was about as good as my ability to be reasonable about the actual breadth of the undertaking of the fic itself lmao (when i first made the rough outline i was like, oh, this'll be about 16 chapters, maybe 150k total. alas my inability to edit down or skip anything when i just wanna put janet in all of post-crisis....lol. the important part is that i'm having fun & don't particularly care if it's way longer than it probably should be)

truly though a lot of that was that my first attempt at tumblr 10+ years ago was. mmm. i didn't like it & it made me miserable. this time i have been doing a bit better at curating my space and being too old to be that emotionally invested. but who knows. probably one day when the giant janet fic is done i will take a delightful tumblr hiatus. possibly. maybe.

When I first saw the concept of ‘Krypton lives and Kara did not sign up for this’ I thought you meant that after Kal was sent off, but before Kara was, they found a way to stop Krypton from being destroyed, and they managed to do that, but then the family couldn’t track the pod and mourned Kal, and then years later an adult Superman with the Justice League finds a not-destroyed Krypton…

(…and still sends Match and Thirteen there because he thinks it’s the best solution, and is mildly jealous that they get to be brought up in their own culture…)

That does sound like a "Clark"-style solution for other Kryptonians. He sends Kara to Themyscira, he sends Kon to Smallville, sends people to the Phantom Zone or Kandor or the opposite side of the SUN . . .

Clark ilu but you are so bad with other Kryptonians. SO BAD.

Honestly the only times I can think of off the top of my head where a Kryptonian/Kryptonian-adjacent got sent away and Clark DIDN'T think it was "for the best" were Chris deliberately going back to the Phantom Zone to fix shit that was fucked up with it and Mon-El having, like, fatal levels of lead poisoning and no choice about leaving, and EVEN THEN the narrative still frames it as unavoidable and for the best! EDITORIAL WHY. WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS, EDITORIAL.

Do you usually end up working on what your polls tell you to work on, or does your brain often end up going ‘Nah, I’ve got this idea, see?’ and you have to go along with it?

I usually do at least a few sentences in the poll winner, yeah, whether I post them that day or not, though also-yeah, sometimes the brain just doesn't cooperate and I work on something else or just don't write at all. But one of the reasons I do the polls is because they help kick my brain into at least writing SOMETHING, even if it's not always a lot, hah. I just have so many WIPs and so much scatterbrain going that having something point me in a direction to go is just useful, you know?

“Project Cadmus produced him from Superman and Paul Westfield’s DNA,” Jackson says. “But they finished him, in their reality. Made a ‘Superman’, not–he wasn’t ever ‘Superboy’. Didn’t go well, though. Then he came to our reality trying to take it over. He murdered Robin. And one of his lieutenants killed Catwoman, because . . . just–she was angry with you.” 

“. . . ‘Westfield’?” Tim repeats, glancing sidelong at Bruce. Bruce doesn’t comment, for the moment. 

He knows that story, though. 

“Angry because of you,” he says, because again, he knows the story. Jackson flinches. 

“Yes, sir,” he says. “She thought–you took away one of her toys. So she killed Catwoman.” 

“Skinned my cat,” Bruce says, perfectly neutral, and Jackson–pauses. His eyes focus in a little sharper. 

“You know what I’m talking about,” he realizes. 

“Yes,” Bruce replies, because it’s not intel worth holding back right now. “Our reality’s Superboy reported back on Black Zero, after meeting him in Hypertime. And meeting you, it seems.” 

“I’ve met a lot of Superboys,” Jackson says, back to the bitter smile. “And a Supergrrrl, too. I was the only one who . . . wasn’t.” 

The only one whose Tim Drake was dead, Bruce can’t help but suspect is the actual end of that sentence.
