the bitch of living
There's so many bad age gaps in warriors that could be fixed so easily if the authors just... waited until the characters were adults to show any romance between them
DustFern is an example that comes to mind. They're about 9 moons apart. When Dustpelt starts showing interest in Fernpaw, they're about 8 and 17 moons old. This is the human equivalent of a 15 year old and a 23 year old which is uh. bad! Very bad!
But like, if this romance began off-screen in the timeskip between Arcs 1 and 2...
Fernpaw is about 20 moons old by the end of TPB, by the way. she is an adult! just... doesn't have her warrior name yet. So while her becoming a nursery queen almost immediately after graduating is true, if she had a normal apprenticeship, she would've been a warrior for nearly a year before having kits.
but anyways, let's say Dustpelt starts showing interest in Ferncloud in the timeskip between TPB and TNP instead. They'd be like... 24 moons old and 33 moons old. Or, about 25 years old and 28 years old if they were humans. which is a perfectly fine age gap!!! It's hardly a gap at all!!
Other pairs like CrookedWillow, TigerDove, WhiteBirch, MoonStorm (Though that pair has... other issues) could so easily be fixed on this same front if the authors just DIDNT PUT THEM TOGETHER WHEN THEY WERE SO YOUNG!!!! Like, there's no need for Crookedjaw at 18 moons old (~20 years old) to be fantasizing about Willowpaw, 9 moons old (~16 years old) nursing his kits. ITS WEIRD!!! They don't even have kits together until YEARS later. would it really be so hard to have them form a friendship that doesn't turn romantic until WELL into adulthood???
Ugh, anyways.... my solution for these pairs is usually just... shuffle ages around (WhiteBirch, SnowScorch, CrookedWillow) or just make them not get together until theyre older.

Hill to die on and whine about: Stop making romances between characters who are young apprentices and grown warriors if you're not gonna acknowledge the fucked upness about it Probably not an an AU, and if it is, it's one where these sisters are maybe closer in the end and focuses more on their shared experience of manipulation at a young age
Korekiyo Shinguji is a victim of both his sister and poor writing choices
