meta: sharing a loft with kurt and rachel

send me a topic to write a meta about my muse on 

1. sometimes  its  awful  –  rip  your  hair  out ,  hang  yourself  on  a  noose ,  drink  bleach  kind  of  awful .  they’re  at  it  again ,  rachel  &  kurt ,  which  you  guess  is  normal  on  a  superficial  level ,  for  roommates  to  fight  (  you  JUST  had  a  fight  with  rachel  last  week  about  breakfast  cereal  anyway ) ,  but  when  glinda  &  elphaba  initiate  one  of  their  late  night  brawls ,  its  like  watching  a  live  episode  of  real  housewives  of  atlanta  but  not  being  able  to  fast  forward  through  the  second - hand  embarrassment .  you  usually  sit  quietly  on  the  dining  table ,  eyebrow  quirking  at  the  intensity  between  the  two .

“  you’re  being  unfair ,  rachel !  not  EVERYTHING  is  about  you ”.  true.

“ &  not  EVERYTHING  is  about  YOU ,  kurt ! ”  also  true .

&  its  at  this  point  where  two  pairs  of  eyes  rapidly  turn  to  look  at  you ,  like  you’re  supposed  to  be  a  mediator  for  their  childish  predicaments .  rachel  points  at  you  &  you  lean  back  on  the  wooden  chair .

“  santana  agrees  with  me ! ”

“ nuh uh ,  if  there’s  anyone  in  this  house  santana  would  EVER  side  with  its  me ”.

it  starts  all  over  again ;  now  its  a  screaming  match  about  taking  sides ,  which  you  use  as  your  cue  to  quietly  leave  the  table .  you’re  out  the  sliding  door  &  in  the  elevator  before  they  get  a  chance  to  figure  out  you’ve  abandoned  ship . 

2. other  times ,  its  like  home .  you  come  home  hungover  at  five  in  the  morning  after  a  night  out  with  a  blonde  with  killer  legs  ( haley  something  or  other ) ,  &  you  feel  like  your  head  might  explode .  the  couch  seems  too  appealing  to  pass  &  you  faceplant  on  the  cushions  &  fall  asleep  before  you  have  time  to  take  off  your  stilettos .

its  when  you  wake  that  you  realize  someone  covered  you  with  a  blanket ,  which  you  appreciate ,  because  fall  in  new  york  was  a  sure  way  of  freezing  to  death  without  the  proper  clothes  to  cover  yourself  up  with .  someone  also  took  your  shoes  off .  you  wake  up  with  a  tired  GROAN  &  on  the  table  you  spot  a  scorching  hot  coffee  (  french  pressed ;  you  assume  its  kurt’s  doing ) ,  &  toast .  rachel  knows  you  can’t  eat  anything  but  toast  when  you’re  hungover  in  the  mornings  or  else  you’ll  go  all  linda  blair  in  your  communal  bathroom .

“  i  didn’t  hear  you  come  in  last  night .”  its  berry ;  she  sounds  like  a  battlefield ,  two - hundred - thousand  machine  guns  ramming  through  your  head .

“  word  on  the  street  is  that  you  didn’t  leave  that  bar  alone .”  kurt’s  just  about  to  leave .  you  don’t  ask  where ;  its  monday ,  kurt  always  leaves  for  NYADA  on  monday  mornings .

you  grumble  something  about  a  beautiful  blonde  &  being  too  drunk  to  call  an  uber .  its  butt - o’clock  in  the  morning  &  all  you  want  is  to  go  back  to  bed .

“ i’m  glad  you’re  putting  yourself  out  there ,  santana . ”

“ me  too .  good  for  you .”

they  don’t  ask  many  questions ,  but  when  rachel  offers  to  cover  your  shift  at  work  you  exhale  &  sink  down  on  the  cushions ,  clutching  the  coffee  cup  in  your  hands .

you  appreciate  it .  you  appreciate  THEM  for  being  the  way  they  are .

but  you’ll  never  tell  them .

        ❝ i do believe we’re supposed to crush these, ❞ luna murmured mournfully, an iridescent beetle wing pinched between her long nails as her eyes followed the shifting reflected light. ❝ such a shame... ❞ with a finalised hum, as if accepting the fate of the beautiful wings, luna turned to her partner and peered at the contents of the cauldron. ❝ looks like my dad’s attempt at porridge. or wallpaper paste. not sure it’ll cure the hiccups. ❞ with a small smile, luna picked up her quill and balanced it between her fingers. ❝ although, there’s something quite satisfying about hiccups, isn’t there? i rather enjoy the surprise. ❞

“Alright, confession time. I’ve never actually watched Notting Hill. I am familiar with the ‘I’m just a girl standing in front of a boy’ part, but apart from that I can’t say anything about it. I do love Julia Roberts though.” What had started as a decision to watch a romantic movie and make it theirs had turned out to be quite the project. Picking their movie was a task not to be taken lightly, so here they were, cuddled up on Adam’s couch, discussing romantic movies. “What about Dirty Dancing? It has the music, the dancing and of course the iconic line ‘nobody puts Baby in a corner,’ it’s great.”
