AVcon Homestuck Cosplay Compilation

It was a fun weekend and I have photos of the local Homestucks! For those of you finding your way here, I was the weird fat guy with a receding hairline and a Void hoodie. If your photo is here and you want either credit or to have your photo removed, just send me a message (and if you know any of the people in these shots, let them know! I get the feeling every homestuck in Adelaide knows each other through somebody, so.)

Photos are in no particular order!

First we have a Dog Tier Jade (@torataurus​) who helped me track down further homestucks on Saturday. Thanks Jade!

Next we have a Jake (@smolbirbkiddo) and Dirk (@macabretrolls)  who apparently went all three days! I didn’t see them on Friday, but here they are on Saturday as mad tricksters. If you want to see what they looked like on Friday, Dirk has pics here!

Here they are again on Sunday, in their God Tier. I’m always fond of Hot Pants Jake.

Here we have Equius, master of Void and Horses.

Aradia, master of death, time, robots, and possibly also horses. I’m not sure. Homestuck has a lot of horses I kind of lose track sometimes.

Here we have the most incredible and intimidating Gamzee I’ve ever seen in my life.

Fuckin’ Miracles.

I guess he had a fun saturday night because when I saw him the next day he looked like this. Apparently he was sober. I’m not sure if that made me more or less scared.

On the lighter side of things, Tavros! All horns and no wheelchair.

Dave was selling badges and other trinkets. I neglected to ask him for a crude depiction of a penis. As a consequence, I left the convention feeling somewhat empty.

This is a similar pose to the one Dirk struck. I wonder if there’s a coincidence. There may be a coincidence. It’s probably too heavily rooted in irony for me to understand. The Striders work in mysterious ways.

Another Gamzee and also a Sollux! Sollux lost a horn. It’s okay, they have like three more.

Kanaya with Terezi in arm! Friends stick together and look out for each other. It’s part of this wonderful human disease.

BRING OUT THE KARKATS! They may or may not be chronologically tied together. I choose to believe all that rainbow blood is blood he got while trying to console Gamzee.

Our next Karkat was rocking it in spite of not having any horns. That’s okay. Horns take time to grow. Everybody’s horns grow in differently and at different times. And even if your horns aren’t as big or as shapely as your friends’, that’s okay! All horns are different, and all horns are beautiful, even if they’re too small to see.

And see? They found their horns in the end after all! Or maybe they stole them from Sollux. The point is, all stories have a happy ending. Except stories involving Gamzee. Those tend to end in horrible horrible bloodbaths. But we won’t think about those.

The third and final Karkat, possibly from the future. I don’t keep up with these things. Talk to a time player.

I believe they were actually the Tavros from the day before. It takes a special kind of devotion to cosplay two different homestuck characters in one convention. Props!

The final person I managed to catch was another Dog Tier Jade. My first and last photos were both Jades. It probably means something!

But wait, I’m forgetting somebody...

Surely you don’t think I could forget the Mayor. Nobody can forget the Mayor. We love the Mayor. The Mayor is precious. The Mayor will lead us to love and Harmony.
